Sony VPL-VW550ES black

Add 4K details to your favorite movies

Imagine the cinematic quality of 4K technology in your home. It’s now possible with our VPL-VW550ES Home Cinema projectors. A native resolution of 4096 x 2160, four times higher than Full HD. Designed to blend seamlessly into your living room, the VPL-VW550ES offers remarkable images with high levels of detail and unprecedented color realism. Plus, with a brightness of 1800 ANSI lumens for the VPL-VW550ES, you’ll enjoy exceptional picture quality even in well-lit rooms.

Contrast Enhancer and SXRD panels

The VPL-VW550ES automatically adjusts contrast for optimal image quality by analyzing dark and light areas in every scene. The advanced SXRD panels feature a highly reflective liquid crystal layer and an alignment layer without beveled corners or contact irregularities for an ultra-fast response rate of 2.5 milliseconds. The space between pixels is reduced for images without pixelation effects and with deep contrast. Improvements to the optical engine and Advanced Iris 3 technology have allowed us to achieve an incredible dynamic contrast ratio of 350,000:1. This intensifies blacks and whites without reducing brightness. So you won’t miss any details, even in the darkest scenes.

Motionflow for smoother content

Our enhanced Motionflow technology: the “Combination” mode uses our “cinematic projection” and our “motion regulator”; it thus adds images to reduce blur and maintain the brightness level for thrilling atmospheres and action scenes. Movie purists can choose “True Cinema” mode to preserve the original 24 frames per second frame rate.

Reality Creation: converting movies to 4K

Just like native 4K content, you can watch your collection of Full HD Blu-ray™ or DVD movies converted to experience 4K. Reality Creation is a technology that radically enhances Full HD content by converting even 3D movies to 4K format.
