Guy

This headphone benefits from excellent craftsmanship; its musical reproduction is very refined, close to much more expensive products. Its sound isolation from the outside to the inside is quite limited (for a closed-back headphone), and it is comfortable to wear during long listening sessions. Be careful not to pair this headphone with overly sharp electronics; conversely, it pairs perfectly with tube electronics or warm amplification.

Very good headphones, and above all very comfortable in addition to very good sound reproduction.
The quality-price ratio is excellent.

Happy owner of a Fiio X3 III and Fiio F9 Pro in-ear monitors (excellent in every way), I wanted to complete this setup with a good pair of over-ear headphones without blowing my budget.
After reading many articles, test reports and forums, and after much hesitation between the Sony MDR-1AM2 and the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7, I finally opted for the latter.
A few sites helped me make this choice:

I don't regret my purchase - quite the contrary. The rendering is extraordinarily present and, above all, natural. The registers don't bleed into each other. No overwhelming bass (rest assured, it's there when needed), a gorgeous midrange (voices, strings), no metallic treble - unless the recording is - (piano, harpsichord) but absolute precision without being cold or surgical. The dynamics are explosive if the recording demands it (percussion, brass), with no trace of distortion. It's very easy to locate the instruments in the soundstage and follow the melodic lines, even during choral or orchestral tuttis. I mainly listen to classical and jazz in HD FLAC. When the recording is up to par, the soundstage is wide, the air superb, and it's teeming with micro-details (hall reverberation, pages turning, chair noises, singers moving during live recordings, breaths before attacks, even humming from the conductor or performer, etc.).
The rendering of the original cable (without remote) is rather decent, but I immediately thought this very good headphone deserved better. After some research, I chose the Furutech ADL iHP-35 II, which allows it to reach its full potential (long live the detachable cord!) and magnify its great qualities.
Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
