Advanced AL32 Processing Plus
Support for 384 kHz / 32-bit PCM inputs
For digital inputs, the PMA-1600NE incorporates AL32 Processing Plus, the latest version of Denon’s analog signal reproduction technology, using a unique data interpolation algorithm and supporting high-quality 384 kHz / 32-bit PCM signal input. These algorithms interpolate points that exist before and after a large amount of data to reproduce a regular waveform close to the original signal. The precise recovery of data lost during digital recording ensures a rich, ultra-detailed, interference-free, precisely localized representation, even in the low ranges, and faithful sound reproduction.
Digital isolator
The PMA-1600NE is equipped with a high-speed digital isolator that eliminates the negative effects of high-frequency noise on sound quality from a computer connected via USB or the PMA-1600NE’s digital inputs. Since data is transmitted magnetically through the coil integrated into the chip, the input and output sides are electrically isolated. Isolating the signal line between the digital audio and the D/A converter eliminates high-frequency noise that negatively affects the analog audio circuits located behind the D/A converter. The PMA-1600NE also features a dedicated secondary winding inside the digital circuit transformer to block noise from the power supply. By using analog mode for analog audio playback, you can cut off power from a dedicated digital power supply to completely turn off the digital input circuit, avoiding high-frequency effects on the analog section. Analog mode also disables the fluorescent display and allows the PMA-1600NE to function as a purely analog amplifier (USB-B, coaxial digital, and optical digital inputs are not available in analog mode).
