Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors

Solid conductors prevent interaction between strand and strand interaction both electrically and magnetically, major sources of distortion. The quality of the surface is critical because a conductor can be considered as a waveguide for both electrical and magnetic fields within a conductor, and for magnetic fields extending outside the conductor. The astonishingly smooth and pure surface of all AudioQuest’s Perfect-Surface metals nearly eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity compared to lesser materials. Extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper+ minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metal conductor, nearly eliminating harshness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other copperware.

The relationship between conductors defines a cable’s most basic electrical values (capacitance and inductance). However, even when these variables are kept in a reasonably neutral balance, the cable’s particular geometry greatly affects the sound. “Star-Quad” geometry is not only significantly better than parallel conductors, but it’s also better than the same conductors as a twisted pair.
