This connector design allows for a solder-free connection, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of soldering, the process uses a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.
Solid conductors eliminate strand interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Silver-plated conductors are perfect for very high frequency applications, such as audio and HDMI video. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Since the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but at a price much closer to solid copper cable. It is an incredibly cost-effective way to make very high-quality HDMI cables.

Purchased to separate the sound on my Panasonic UB 9000 player. The mid-range coaxial cable provides satisfactory results on this equipment, but the higher-end models are worth the investment (see the Carbon model) for even better sound reproduction. I use the Carbon cable on my hi-fi system. The Forest model is well-suited for home theater setups.
