Farewell to the Chorus series that we listened to with such pleasure and welcome to the new range of Focal Chora speakers. Focal currently offers 3 models, 2 floorstanding speakers Chora 826, Chora 816 and a bookshelf speaker Chora 806, the flagship of this new range is the Chora 826.
Chora 816 is particularly suitable for listening in Home Cinema setups and integrates ideally in rooms up to 30 m2.
The suspension that connects the dome to its support uses a shape-memory material, Poron. This suspension is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter and divides distortion by three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, a zone of high sensitivity for the ear. The spatialization and very low directivity of the inverted dome allow you to perceive silky treble, regardless of the listening location in the room.
Slatefiber technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of using non-woven recycled carbon fibers, sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In the quest for perfection, Focal engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers all oriented in the same direction in order to obtain even more rigidity and better damping. Manufactured in France using state-of-the-art industrial tools, this “slate” effect cone provides more damping and rigidity, but also lightness, the three “essentials” of a good speaker.

Very good speakers, though the treble can be a bit aggressive on some tracks. Quite large in size. Be mindful of the dimensions of your room.
