The SB-2000 Pro’s driver shares nothing with its predecessor. SVS has developed a vented 1050 aluminum cone, an alloy that combines lightness and rigidity for strictly pistonic behavior. This 30 cm cone is supported by an injection-molded, long-throw parabolic surround that allows for significant excursion while maintaining precise control of the movement.
The motor driving this moving assembly is based on a dual toroidal ferrite magnet weighing nearly 7 kg. This magnetic mass generates a field strong enough to keep the voice coil linear even during the most ambitious excursions. The coil itself is wound in a dual layer on a fiberglass former impregnated with polyimide, a choice that promotes thermal dissipation during sustained high-level passages.
The Sledge STA-550D amplifier delivers 550 watts continuous and can reach 1500 watts peak to handle the most violent transients. Its Class D architecture with a discrete MOSFET output stage offers high efficiency while ensuring substantial instantaneous current capability. This discrete design, rather than the integrated circuits usually found at this price level, improves heat dissipation and long-term power handling.
Signal processing is handled by a 50 MHz Analog Devices DSP, providing enough processing power for 56‑bit double-precision filtering. This processor manages real-time driver protection, response curve optimization, and the various settings accessible to the user. Frequency response extends from 19 Hz to 240 Hz (±3 dB), with the possibility of gaining an extra 2 to 3 Hz in small to medium-sized rooms thanks to the natural gain of enclosed spaces.
The SVS app, available for iOS, Android, and Amazon devices, communicates with the subwoofer via Bluetooth. It provides access to all DSP parameters from anywhere in the room, even when the subwoofer is hidden behind furniture or placed in a corner. Volume, low-pass filter crossover frequency (from 30 to 200 Hz with an adjustable slope from 6 to 24 dB/octave), phase (adjustable from 0° to 180° in fine increments), and polarity can all be set in real time.
The three-band parametric equalizer corrects room acoustic anomalies. Each band covers the 20–200 Hz range with a gain adjustment from +6 to -12 dB and a Q factor adjustable from 0.2 to 10. Room gain compensation reduces the natural reinforcement of low frequencies in enclosed spaces. Three user presets store complete configurations: a setting optimized for movies with a slight boost in the very low frequencies, another more neutral profile for music, or any other personal compromise.
The double-thickness MDF cabinet with internal bracing creates an acoustically inert volume that provides a stable base for the driver. The compact dimensions (372 × 360 × 395 mm including grille) make it easy to integrate into a living room or dedicated room without taking up excessive space. The 17.5 kg weight remains manageable for one person during initial placement or later adjustments.
The Premium Black Ash finish uses a textured vinyl veneer with rounded edges. A black gloss lacquered version is also available for a more eye-catching look. The protective grille, made of fabric stretched over a thick ABS frame, attaches tool-free and introduces no unwanted resonance. Iso-elastomer feet decouple the subwoofer from the floor to limit the transmission of vibrations to furniture and flooring.
The rear panel includes a pair of RCA inputs (stereo or mono LFE on the right channel), an RCA output for daisy-chaining a second subwoofer, a USB port to power the optional SoundPath wireless adapter, and a 3–12 V DC trigger input for automatic power-on from the main amplifier. The ICI (Intelligent Control Interface) with push buttons and LED display provides access to basic settings without a smartphone.
Three standby modes are available: always on, automatic activation upon detection of an audio signal, or control via external trigger. Power consumption in eco-standby drops to 0.5 watts, a real advantage for everyday use without noticeable extra energy cost.
The sealed enclosure gives the SB-2000 Pro a different character from bass-reflex subwoofers in the same class. Transients are tighter, percussion attack is crisper, and decay is faster. This responsiveness particularly benefits music listening, where the bass line needs to remain articulate and the kick drum must hit hard without overhang. In home theater, explosions and LFE effects gain in definition what they lose in sheer air displacement compared with a ported model.
In a 20 to 25 m² room, the SB-2000 Pro can single-handedly cover the low-frequency range of a 2.1 system or a complete home theater setup. Larger spaces or listeners seeking higher sound pressure levels may consider adding a second identical unit, a configuration the SVS app natively supports by allowing each unit to be named and controlled separately.
The SB-2000 Pro uses a sealed enclosure, while the PB-2000 Pro uses a bass-reflex design with two ports. The sealed model offers tighter bass and faster transient response, with a smaller footprint. The ported model goes deeper (16 Hz versus 19 Hz) and moves more air, at the cost of a larger cabinet and a slightly less dry response.

Yes, as long as the soundbar has a subwoofer output (usually RCA or “sub out”). The app’s fine-tuning options make it possible to adjust crossover and level for coherent integration with the rest of the spectrum reproduced by the soundbar.
SVS recommends this model for rooms up to around 25–30 m². Beyond that, performance remains satisfactory at moderate levels, but the available headroom for peaks decreases. Adding a second subwoofer or moving up to the SB-3000 then becomes relevant.
The SB-2000 Pro does not include a built-in wireless receiver, but the rear USB port can power the SVS SoundPath Wireless adapter (sold separately). This accessory transmits the audio signal without compression over a proprietary link, eliminating the RCA cable between the amp and the subwoofer.
The sealed enclosure and aluminum cone support articulate reproduction of bass lines and percussion. The SB-2000 Pro integrates easily with bookshelf or compact floorstanding speakers, extending their low end without weighing down the overall sonic signature.
A standard coaxial RCA cable is sufficient. For lengths over 5 meters, a quality cable with proper shielding will help avoid interference. SVS offers its own SoundPath range, but any properly built RCA cable will do the job.

What can I say, it’s just marvelous. I’ve installed two of them for my home theater; they’re discreet, great-looking, and incredibly effective, especially for hi-fi. For me, a sealed subwoofer is the ideal choice when you use it for both movies and music.
