Perfect power cable with excellent build quality, a slim design, and an IEC plug perfectly suited for a streamer. The cable is also flexible enough for easy installation.

The Roxy-E, a product of Japanese know-how from Furutech, is a mains power cable designed for demanding audio and video systems. Its main advantage: a low-profile IEC connector, the FI-C15(G), that fits where standard plugs cannot. A relevant choice for turntables, phono preamplifiers, and other compact electronics where rear space is often limited.
The structure of the Roxy-E is based on three conductors made of 37 strands of 0.26 mm OFC copper. Two of them receive silver plating, while the third (ground) benefits from Furutech’s proprietary Alpha treatment. Each conductor is individually insulated in audio-grade polyethylene, in three distinct colors (red, yellow, green) to make identification easier.
The assembly is then wrapped in cotton, followed by a layer of paper before being protected by a dark red PVC sheath with a diameter of 10 mm. A black nylon filament braid adds a final layer of mechanical protection and brings the final diameter to 10.8 mm. The result: a flexible cable, easy to handle, yet sufficiently damped to limit mechanical vibrations.
All the metallic elements of the Roxy-E go through Furutech’s Alpha process. This two-step method begins with deep cryogenic treatment: the parts are cooled to temperatures between -196 and -250 °C using liquid nitrogen or helium. This treatment modifies the molecular structure of the metal, reducing internal stresses and tightening the bonds between molecules.
The second step is demagnetization by controlled attenuation (Ring Demagnetization), for which Furutech holds the exclusive license from Sekiguchi Machine Sale Co. in Japan. Unlike conventional magnets, which can leave some areas more magnetized than others, this process uniformly eliminates any residual magnetization.
On the mains side, the Roxy-E is equipped with a gold-plated contact FI-E11(G) Schuko plug. On the device side, the IEC FI-C15(G) connector features a reduced profile: approximately 22 × 30 × 82 mm. This compact format was developed for Linn, Devialet, McIntosh amplifiers, and other devices whose IEC inlet is difficult to access.
Both connectors incorporate the Floating Field Damper system, patented by Furutech (US Patent 6,669,491). Its principle: grounding the small metal parts of the connector (screws, fastening elements) in which alternating current induces stray magnetic fields. By connecting these parts through a star grounding system, the system dissipates residual electrical potentials and reduces interference.
Furutech positions the Roxy-E as particularly suited to analog components. The combination of an Alpha-treated ground conductor and the Floating Field Damper is intended to maintain a stable ground reference, which benefits low-signal amplification stages such as phono preamplifiers.
The cable can power a CD player, a DAC, an integrated amplifier, a video projector, or a television. But it is on low-level sources, where background noise is more noticeable, that its technical contribution makes the most sense.
The standard Roxy is equipped with an American/Japanese FI-11M(G) mains plug. The Roxy-E uses a Schuko FI-E11(G) plug, suited to the European power grid. The conductors and the IEC connector are identical on both versions.
The FI-C15 is an IEC C15 plug, compatible with the standard C14 inlets found on most audio and video equipment. Its compact format makes it particularly useful when several cables need to coexist at the rear of a device or when the inlet is recessed.
The phase and neutral conductors are silver-plated to promote conductivity. The ground conductor receives the Alpha treatment (cryogenic treatment and demagnetization) without silver plating. Furutech considers that this combination offers a balance between conductivity and ground reference stability.
The patented Floating Field Damper system is integrated into the FI-E11(G) mains plug. The IEC FI-C15(G) connector, with its simpler design, does not include this star grounding mechanism.
The Roxy-E is rated for 10 A / 250 V, which suits the majority of audio electronics. For amplifiers with very high current draw (power monoblocks, for example), Furutech offers cables with larger cross-section conductors, such as the Empire or the Powerflux.

Very good product. A good balance between flexibility, shielding, and quality.
I recommend it.
