Unlike basic in-wall speakers, this model offers fine tuning of the sound according to two parameters: the treble level and the mid-bass level can each be attenuated by 0 or -3 dB independently. A highly reverberant room will benefit from slight treble attenuation to avoid excessive brightness, while a heavily damped space can retain the nominal level to preserve liveliness. Likewise, adjusting the mid-bass level helps compensate for wall proximity effects or room modes.

By directing the high-frequency radiation precisely toward the primary listening area, it maximizes stereo image coherence and soundstage precision. The mounting system has been designed to simplify installation while ensuring impeccable long-term stability. The mounting tabs provide firm retention in the partition, distributing the load evenly to avoid any deformation or unwanted vibrations. A supplied cutting template makes it easy to prepare the opening, reducing the risk of errors during installation.

Weighing just 2.1 kg, the IWT8 is compatible with most standard partitions without requiring special reinforcement. This relative lightness, achieved without compromising build quality, reflects the design’s thorough optimization.

Performance and compatibility: versatile by design

With a sensitivity of 91 dB (1W/1m), the IWT8 is particularly efficient, capable of delivering comfortable sound levels with modestly powered amplifiers. This characteristic, typical of Triangle products, significantly broadens the range of compatible electronics. A 30-watt amplifier is sufficient to energize a medium-sized room, while the 160-watt power handling allows dynamic peaks without compression or distortion.

The nominal impedance of 8 ohms, with a minimum of 7 ohms, ensures a stable electrical load for the amplifier. Triangle traditionally keeps its minimum impedances above 3 ohms, thus ensuring universal compatibility with Hi-Fi and home theater amplifiers on the market, whether tube or solid-state.

The frequency response, extending from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, covers the entire audible spectrum with remarkable linearity for an in-wall speaker. This range allows use both in pure stereo configurations and as effects channels in a multichannel system. Paired with the LCR7 models for front channels and the ICT7 or EMT7 for Atmos channels, they allow the creation of a fully integrated system compatible with the latest Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies.
