Taga Harmony TPC-TS 1.5m

The household electrical network carries much more than just current: electromagnetic interference from refrigerators, radio noise from chargers, pollution generated by dimmer switches. Taga Harmony has developed the TPC-TS to filter out this interference before it reaches your audio and video equipment. This 1.5-meter power cable combines a high-purity copper conductor with multilayer shielding, all terminated with rhodium-plated connectors.

A construction designed for isolation

The TPC-TS is based on an OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) conductor with 99.99% purity. This copper quality reduces electrical resistance and facilitates current flow during sudden power demands, such as when an amplifier starts up or during volume peaks on a subwoofer. The 3 × 3 mm² cross-section (equivalent to 10 AWG) allows for a comfortable current of 16 amperes.

Each conductor’s insulation uses a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) dielectric, a material that effectively separates the wires and limits interference between them. The actual shielding consists of two layers: a pure copper braid surrounds the conductors, then an aluminum foil adds an extra barrier against radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). A copper ground wire completes the design.

The whole assembly is protected by a double PVC jacket, reinforced with a nylon braid that provides rigidity and mechanical strength. The final diameter is around 17 mm: the cable is sturdy, but its rigidity can make installation in tight spaces more challenging.

Connectors and implementation

At each end, Taga Harmony has fitted its own connectors. The Schuko plug (type E/F) and IEC C13 connector use non-magnetic brass, a choice that avoids introducing disturbances into the circuit. The pins and contacts are rhodium-plated, a hard and stable metal that resists oxidation while maintaining optimal conductivity. Both connectors support a load of 16 A at 250 V.

The Schuko plug uses a straight orientation. This configuration offers a solid grip when plugging in, but it makes the cable stick out about fifteen centimeters from the wall. If your setup is flush against a partition, allow for the necessary space or consider relocating the plug to an accessible power strip.

Integration into a Taga Harmony system

The TPC-TS has been designed to work with the brand’s filtered power strips (PF-600, PF-1000 v2, PF-2000). These mains filters feature an IEC C14 input that accepts a removable power cable: replacing the standard cord with a TPC-TS enhances filtering upstream of the device. The synergy between the cable’s shielding and the power strip’s active filtering further reduces residual pollution.

The cable is also suitable for directly powering audio-video equipment equipped with an IEC socket: integrated amplifiers, home cinema amplifiers, CD players, network players, active subwoofers, or Blu-ray players. The generous conductor cross-section meets the needs of devices with high current demands.
