Listening Optimizer

Internal microphones continuously measure your ear canal and listening conditions, ensuring pure reference sound for the ultimate listening result. Yamaha’s Listening Optimizer uses an in-ear microphone to measure the seal and air leaks of different ear shapes every 20 seconds. Playback is optimized in real-time to correct the difference between the source and actual listening conditions, providing a personalized sound for each listener.

Cut the noise, not the music

Yamaha’s unique noise cancellation technology never interferes with the original sound source, only eliminating noise. In-ear microphones listen to the combined signals of music and noise, separating the signal processing of background noise and music. It achieves this by isolating the two from each other in a unique new algorithm. The signal collected by the internal microphone analyzes the noise, calculating what needs to be removed from the music signal playback so that only the noise is erased. This means there is no unnecessary processing of the music signal, preserving the purity of the music.

Listening Care aims to optimize tonal balance based on a volume setting.

The YH-E700A adopts a real-time adaptive approach that uses data from the last 5 seconds, calculating the average volume level every 0.7 ms. The correction applied by the 4-curve equalization is adaptive based on the average volume level. Optimization is therefore achieved with significantly higher precision, relative to the content volume on a continuous basis. Moreover, in order to achieve a more natural effect, the correction parameters are slowly applied over time. Your listening experience is personalized based on the music and your environment, meaning a completely individualized sound, just for you.
