The TNF Aluminum/Magnesium Tweeter

The suspension that connects the dome to its support uses a shape-memory material, Poron. This suspension is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter and reduces distortion by a factor of three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, a zone of high sensitivity for the ear. The spatialization and very low directivity of the inverted dome allow for the perception of silky highs, regardless of the listening position in the room.

The Slatefiber Cone

Focal’s exclusive Slatefiber technology consists of using non-woven recycled carbon fibers, sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In the pursuit of perfection, Focal engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers all oriented in the same direction to obtain even more rigidity and better damping. Manufactured in France using state-of-the-art industrial tools, this “slate-effect” cone provides more damping and rigidity, as well as lightness - the three “essentials” of a good speaker.
