Not too big, used for home theater and music, and for my living room of about 40m2 it delivers more than enough power. Very easy to set up with the Denon amplifier.

Each year, dozens of European journalists gather to select the best electronic products of the year. Awarded by a diverse and impartial jury, the EISA (Expert Imaging and Sound Association) awards recognize exceptional products for their performance, design, or ergonomics.
The SVS SB-1000 PRO Black Ash is a subwoofer that combines power and compactness. With its reduced dimensions of 34.3 x 33 x 37.5 cm, this model easily fits into most interiors. Despite its modest size, it delivers deep and punchy bass thanks to its 12-inch (30.5 cm) long-throw driver and its Sledge STA-325D amplifier with 325 W RMS (820 W peak). This combination allows the SB-1000 PRO to reach frequencies as low as 20 Hz, providing an immersive sound experience for both music and home theater.
The SB-1000 PRO benefits from the latest technological advancements from SVS. Its amplifier features a 50 MHz Analog Devices DSP (Digital Signal Processor) with 56-bit double precision filtering. This computing power allows precise control of the driver, ensuring bass that is both powerful and well-defined. The subwoofer uses a sealed design, which promotes a more linear frequency response and faster, more precise bass compared to ported models.
The SB-1000 PRO boasts an elegant design with rounded corners that harmoniously integrates into any interior. The Black Ash finish offers a matte and understated look, ideal for blending discreetly into the decor. The subwoofer is also available in Piano Gloss Black or White finishes for those seeking a more premium look. An acoustically transparent fabric grille protects the driver while preserving its sound performance.
The SB-1000 PRO features stereo RCA inputs and high-level inputs, allowing easy connection to any type of amplifier or audio-video receiver. An RCA output also allows chaining multiple subwoofers for even more uniform bass frequency coverage in the room. A 12V trigger is also present to synchronize the subwoofer’s power-on with the main amplifier.
One of the major innovations of the SB-1000 PRO is its dedicated mobile app, available for iOS and Android. This app allows complete control of the subwoofer from your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. You can adjust the volume, crossover frequency, phase, polarity, and even use a 3-band parametric equalizer to fine-tune the subwoofer’s response according to your room. The app also allows you to save multiple presets to quickly adapt to different types of content (music, movies, video games).
The SB-1000 PRO stands out for its ability to reproduce deep and precise bass. Its frequency response ranges from 20 to 270 Hz (+/- 3 dB), with low-frequency extension reaching 18 Hz in small to medium rooms thanks to room gain. The subwoofer can achieve a maximum sound pressure level of 116.3 dB at 1 meter, which is remarkable for a model of this size. The sealed design ensures excellent bass definition, avoiding the “boomy” effect sometimes encountered with ported subwoofers.
The SB-1000 PRO adapts to a wide range of uses. In a home theater setup, it provides the depth and impact needed for the special effects in action movies. For music listening, its precision and speed highlight bass lines and add body to low-frequency instruments without overshadowing them. The subwoofer is suitable for both small rooms and larger spaces, thanks to its generous power and extensive adjustment options.
Yes, its compact size and sealed design make it an excellent choice for apartments. The mobile app allows for fine-tuning of bass levels to avoid disturbing neighbors.
Absolutely. Using multiple subwoofers can achieve a more uniform bass response in the room. The SVS mobile app makes it easy to configure and adjust multiple units.
A slight break-in can enhance performance, but the SB-1000 PRO delivers excellent results right out of the box. A period of 20 to 30 hours of use allows the speaker to reach its optimal performance.
The ideal placement depends on your room. Try different positions (corners, along walls) and use the mobile app to adjust settings. SVS also offers a personalized advisory service to help you optimize placement.

Really very good. I chose it mainly because it directly accepts my speaker-level outputs, which allows me to use it with my Arcam amplifier that has no center channel.
The app allows optimal crossover adjustment; that's where you really realize that the ear is always better than pure theory.
Even though I of course used theory as a basic parameter for the adjustment, in the end it's better with a few extra dB and a few hertz higher...
What's more, with the profile system, you can completely change the settings for home theater and, for example, avoid having crazy bass when listening to music (And yes, sound quality and bass power are not linked!).
The build quality is good and the included rubber spikes are a must both for decoupling and for floors...
