The TNF Aluminum/Magnesium tweeter

The suspension that connects the dome to its support uses a shape-memory material, Poron. This suspension is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter and divides distortion by three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, a zone of high sensitivity for the ear. The spatialization and very low directivity of the inverted dome allow for the perception of silky treble, regardless of the listening location in the room.

The Slatefiber membrane

Focal’s exclusive Slatefiber technology consists of using non-woven recycled carbon fibers, applied in a sandwich between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In pursuit of perfection, Focal engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers all oriented in the same direction in order to obtain even more rigidity and better damping. Manufactured in France using state-of-the-art industrial tools, this “slate” effect membrane allows for more damping and rigidity, but also lightness, the three “essentials” of a good speaker.
