The HTR-1000CD v.2 is an uncompromising high-fidelity all-in-one stereo system that delivers exceptional sound performance!
Hybrid amplification plus the power and precision of modern technology. Two greats, in perfect harmony…
What does this mean and why does TAGA Harmony use this approach?
Hybrid means a combination of two different techniques to create an amplifier in a single device: the world of tubes and the world of transistors.
TAGA Harmony amplifiers use vacuum tubes in the preamp section and transistors in the power stage. The result is a tube-like, soft and analog sound and at the same time high dynamics and power provided by the transistors, which is generally a weak point of pure tube designs.
The sound of TAGA Harmony hybrid amplifiers is not only silky and rich but also powerful and dynamic. Moreover, hybrid amplifiers compared to pure tube amps have better capabilities to properly drive different types of speakers.
After being turned on, a hybrid amplifier needs to warm up its tubes to reach its full sonic capabilities - this usually takes 5 to 15 minutes depending on the model and ambient temperature.

After 2 weeks of use (DAB/FM tuner, CD and USB (MP3) player), I am very satisfied with the audio quality of the device as well as its look, especially considering the price of €500. I just doubt the claimed power of the 2x75 W RMS amplifier under 4 ohms; in my opinion it's exaggerated and I think more like 2x30 W.
