The Triangle Borea BR09 Walnut is the flagship floor-standing speaker of the Borea range, designed to deliver a high-end audio experience at an affordable price. Combining advanced technologies with elegant design, this 3-way speaker promises exceptional sound performance for music and home theater enthusiasts.
The Borea BR09 stands out with its design that is both imposing and elegant. Standing at 1.095 meters tall, this floor-standing speaker makes a striking impression in any room. Its walnut-finished cabinet adds a warm and sophisticated touch that blends seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
The clean front panel is adorned with five symmetrically arranged drivers: a central tweeter, a midrange, and three woofers. The white surrounds of the drivers create a subtle contrast with the wood, while the removable magnetic grille allows for a more discreet look if desired.
At the heart of the BR09 lies a sophisticated 3-way configuration, a testament to Triangle’s acoustic expertise. The 25 mm silk dome tweeter features the brand’s EFS (Efficient Flow System) technology. This system optimizes the dispersion of high frequencies throughout the room, delivering a wide and immersive soundstage.
The 16 cm midrange driver uses a natural cellulose membrane, a material prized for its neutrality and ability to faithfully reproduce vocals. The three 16 cm woofers are equipped with fiberglass membranes, combining rigidity and lightness for deep and impactful bass.
This configuration enables the BR09 to cover a wide frequency range, from deep bass at 35 Hz to crystal-clear highs at 22 kHz. Its high sensitivity of 92.5 dB and nominal impedance of 8 Ω make it easy to drive with an amplifier.
Triangle has equipped the BR09 with several technological innovations to optimize its performance. The DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) uses perforated MDF panels and EVA foam to reduce unwanted vibrations and enhance sound precision.
The large front-facing bass-reflex port extends low-frequency response while minimizing compression. The sophisticated crossover ensures smooth transitions between the drivers for optimal sonic coherence across the entire spectrum.
Thanks to its meticulous design, the BR09 delivers a captivating listening experience. Vocals are reproduced with striking naturalness, rich in nuances and presence. Acoustic instruments benefit from excellent tonal balance, with accurate timbres and a beautiful sense of space.
In the low-frequency range, the three woofers produce deep and articulate bass, capable of conveying the physical impact of a kick drum or the vibrations of an organ. The impressive dynamics allow the speaker to handle delicate passages and intense fortes without audible compression.
The wide and deep soundstage immerses the listener in the heart of the music. Whether for stereo listening or in a home theater setup, the BR09 offers an immersive and emotional experience.
While designed to excel in large rooms over 30 m², the BR09 adapts well to smaller spaces thanks to its well-controlled bass. It is equally suited for music listening and movie watching, delivering balanced and dynamic performance in both cases.
Its high sensitivity allows it to be driven by moderately powered amplifiers, while also handling high power levels for demanding passages. This versatility makes it an excellent choice for gradually building a high-end system.
Triangle recommends an amplification power between 60 and 300 W at 8 ohms. However, its high sensitivity allows it to be effectively driven by moderately powered amplifiers.
Absolutely. Its dynamics, precision, and ability to deliver deep bass make it an excellent front speaker for a high-performance home theater system. It can be paired with other models from the Borea range for optimal coherence.
For most uses, the BR09 provides sufficient low-frequency extension without requiring a subwoofer. However, for home theater enthusiasts seeking the most extreme effects, adding a subwoofer can be an interesting complement.
The BR09 is larger and features an additional woofer compared to the BR08. This allows it to deliver deeper bass (35 Hz versus 40 Hz) and superior dynamics, making it more suitable for larger rooms.

As a newcomer to these speakers, I'm absolutely delighted! plan on a beefy amp to drive them, or a power amp.

Paired with a Marantz Cinema 50 amplifier, these floorstanding speakers deliver very powerful sound that has significantly transformed my home theater setup.
Living in an apartment, in a 30m2 room, I had to make compromises and limit their volume, which proved a little too impressive during my first screening. Despite this deliberate “restriction,” the sound remains excellent and powerful (especially in the bass). I know I have plenty of room for a future setup in a place where I can let them fully express themselves!
Aesthetically very attractive, it should nevertheless be noted that the finish is quite fragile and scratches fairly easily.
