The Theva Center is Focal’s new 2-way closed center speaker, succeeding the Chora Center. It is designed to ideally complement the speakers in your Home Cinema system, with Focal’s latest technologies such as an aluminum/magnesium tweeter and a Slatefiber woofer/midrange. Thanks to these features, Theva Center offers exceptional sound clarity for dialogues in all movies, with a high level of detail. This speaker is specially designed to be placed on a piece of furniture or on its stand (available as an option), and its refined and elegant design will enhance your interior.

TNF Aluminum/Magnesium Tweeter

Focal has integrated two major advancements in the aluminum/magnesium TNF tweeter to improve its performance. First, the suspension connecting the dome to its support has been improved using an innovative material called Poron, which has shape memory. This suspension is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, and it significantly reduces distortion in the ear’s high sensitivity zone, between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz. In fact, this technology allows for a reduction in distortion by a factor of three.

Secondly, in order to improve the spatialization and directivity of the inverted dome, Focal has developed a waveguide. This technology considerably improves the directivity of the tweeter, which is significantly superior to that of the conventional positive dome used by the competition. Thanks to this technology, the frequency response is maintained within a range of only +/- 0.5 dB in the horizontal plane. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable sound stage and is less critical in terms of ideal listening position.

Slatefiber Membrane

Slatefiber technology, a Focal exclusive made in France, consists of using non-woven recycled carbon fibers, applied in a sandwich between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In pursuit of perfection, Focal engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers, all oriented in the same direction, in order to obtain even more rigidity, better damping, and also lightness - the three “essentials” of a good speaker.

Design and finishes

Focal has succeeded in combining design and sound quality in its creations by magnifying the sound with meticulous finishes. The Theva line, available in three finishes - Black, Dark Wood, and Light Wood - enhances the speakers. The wood effect on the sides, available in dark or light, adds warmth and harmoniously blends with other materials such as metal, concrete, or stone, while adapting to classic or modern interiors. The black finish, on the other hand, brings a touch of timelessness and sophistication.

To offer an optimal sound experience, the cabinets have been reworked for more compactness, the front panels have been improved for a perfect rendering and increased robustness. The speakers are surrounded by metallic and screen-printed rings, the vent has been positioned at the rear for sleek front panels, while the bases and grille cloths have been carefully chosen for each model, creating a perfect harmony.
