The UD-505-X is a flagship dual monaural USB digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a built-in fully balanced headphone amplifier that pushes the boundaries of high-fidelity sound. The dual mono structure of the UD-505-X enables stereo signal processing with enhanced purity. Each left and right channel is equipped with an ES9038Q2M digital-to-analog converter from ESS Technology. This mono mode configuration achieves a high signal-to-noise ratio, delivering an unparalleled audio experience.
The TEAC UD-505-X utilizes the ESS Technology ES9038Q2M DAC chip, which supports resolutions up to 22.5 MHz DSD and 768 kHz/32-bit PCM. This reference-grade DAC enjoys a solid reputation in the high-end audio market. With HyperStream® II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the UD-505-X ensures exceptional dynamic range and linear digital-to-analog conversion, providing superior audio quality.
The TEAC UD-505-X incorporates a dual monaural circuit configuration, from the power supply to the D/A converters and analog output stage. Each element of the system is optimized for mono processing, avoiding mutual interference and offering rich acoustic expressiveness. Moreover, the audio signals of the left and right channels are processed in a fully balanced manner, improving the signal-to-noise ratio and extending the dynamic range.
In addition to standard SBC and AAC codecs, the UD-505-X supports LDAC (24-bit/96 kHz Hi-Res audio transmission) and Qualcomm aptX HD, a codec that enables 24-bit/48 kHz format transmission. These features allow you to wirelessly stream playlists from your smartphone or tablet without compromising sound quality.
Instead of relying on an unstable and noisy PC clock, the UD-505-X incorporates an accurate onboard clock generated by a high-precision crystal oscillator. This audio-grade clock ensures a stable and low-phase noise asynchronous USB transfer mode. The UD-505-X is equipped with two dedicated onboard clocks for 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sampling frequencies, automatically selecting the appropriate one for incoming digital signals. This eliminates the effects of jitter on the audio signal, delivering faithful reproduction true to the original.
With RDOT-NEO (Refined Digital Output Technology NEO), the UD-505-X converts digital PCM signals up to 384 kHz/32-bit PCM and 24.5 MHz DSD with remarkable smoothness.
