TEAC CG-10M: A High-Precision Master Clock for the Hi-Res Era
This external clock is designed to optimize the functionality of your network player, DAC, or a combination of CD transport and DAC. It can be connected to up to four devices with a 10 MHz, 50 Ω input. We particularly recommend pairing it with the latest CD transports, the PD-505T and VRDS-701T, as well as compatible DACs such as the UD-505-X and UD-701N.
Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator: TEAC Reference OCXO
The beating heart of the CG-10M is its quartz oscillator, the TEAC Reference OCXO. This innovative component has the ability to reduce fluctuations in oscillation frequency caused by temperature variations. This means that, regardless of ambient conditions, the CG-10M delivers an ultra-precise 10 MHz clock signal. The numbers speak for themselves: an accuracy of ± 3 ppb in terms of frequency stability as a function of temperature, and an accuracy of ± 0.1 ppm in terms of frequency. In other words, the TEAC CG-10M is like an infallible metronome for your audio equipment.
The Art of Sound Reproduction
Any self-respecting audiophile knows that the quality of the clock signal is the cornerstone of audio reproduction. Digital signals, such as PCM, are divided into thousands of slices per second. Even slight variations in timing can alter the fidelity of the audio reproduction. This is even more critical for DSD signals, which operate at MHz speeds. Thus, having an accurate clock signal is imperative, especially for HiRes files such as DSD 22.5 MHz or PCM 768 kHz.
BNC Output Connectors
The CG-10M is equipped with four gold-plated BNC connectors (50 ohms) that allow the clock signal to be transmitted to multiple devices simultaneously. You can connect USB DACs, network players, and SA-CD players, all with surgical precision.
Circuit Isolation and Independence
The CG-10M takes into account the importance of circuit isolation and independence. Each circuit, from the power supply to the buffer amplifier at the output stage, is completely isolated to avoid cross-interference, ensuring an uncompromising audio experience. The inclusion of a buffer amplifier in each circuit prevents any degradation of the signal waveform when it is shared between multiple devices.
The Power of a Toroidal Core
A high-capacity toroidal core power transformer ensures constant and stable current, a key element in generating a high-precision clock and superior audio output.
“Pin-Point” Feet: The Epitome of Stability
The CG-10M is equipped with TEAC’s patented “Pin-Point” feet, which contain two distinct metal sections in an integrated housing. These feet play a crucial role in reducing vibrations and resonances, ensuring precise and stable clock oscillation.
Compact and Robust
With a compact and robust design, the CG-10M is designed to seamlessly integrate into TEAC’s Reference 500 series. Its aluminum panels and electromagnetically resistant metal chassis make it a discreet companion, ready to blend into any high-end audio environment.
