The D8000 Pro Edition also has a flatter tuning and is designed for higher volume levels. The upper midrange / lower treble has been boosted in the Pro edition, which can make the attack of notes a bit sharper and less rounded than the D8000.

In terms of physical differences, the D8000 Pro Edition has softer earpads compared to the non-pro model. The Pro edition also comes with a 3m silver-plated cable that was sold separately with the D8000, which may account for the slight price difference.
