It features an elliptical Fine Line stylus, fully cut from diamond, ensuring unparalleled reading precision. The high-performance motor system with four coils and split pole pins, exclusive to genuine Ortofon cartridges, guarantees faithful and accurate sound reproduction.
The Ortofon 2MR series is designed with a new cartridge housing for optimized mounting on low-profile turntables. With its ultra-slim 3 mm height reduction, seamless integration is ensured. The cartridge’s thin body eliminates the need for spacers or modifications, ensuring quick and easy mounting with just two screws.
The Ortofon 2MR Blue offers unmatched compatibility with all 2M styli. It is also optimized in terms of weight and size to harmoniously fit the most common turntables on the current market. The 2M series provides exceptional compatibility, easily integrating into a variety of playback systems and pairing with a wide range of phono preamps.
The goal of any cartridge should be to reproduce the sound as close as possible to the artist’s vision, and the Ortofon 2MR Blue takes you further on this journey of authenticity. The 2M Blue delivers superior dynamics and resolution, offering a more open sound and more detailed reproduction compared to the 2M Red model.
The Ortofon 2MR Blue stands out with its reduced height, designed to suit tonearms with a low VTA and lacking height adjustment. This unique feature, combined with its superior sound quality and ease of installation, makes it a top choice for vinyl enthusiasts.

Superior to the Rega Elys 2 in its ability to reproduce a well-balanced soundstage. Whether it's electronic music or jazz, it delivers punchy performance. Without overdoing it, it fits nicely on a Rega 3 tonearm without much difficulty. I highly recommend it.
