SVS Prime Pinnacle Tower Speaker

The SVS Prime Pinnacle Tower is a 3-way floor-standing speaker designed to deliver high-level audio performance in stereo and home theater systems. Resulting from SVS’s expertise in speaker design, it stands out for its refined sound, extended dynamics, and deep bass.

Custom Speakers

The Prime Pinnacle features a unique configuration of five custom speakers, developed after years of research and development by SVS engineers:

• Three 16.5 cm polypropylene woofers for deep and dynamic bass
• A 13 cm midrange driver with a fiberglass cone
• A 25 mm aluminum dome tweeter with FEA-optimized diffuser

Each woofer is mounted in its own separate cavity with a tuned port for optimal low-frequency control. The midrange driver benefits from a dedicated sealed compartment for precise reproduction of voices and instruments. The aluminum dome tweeter ensures high clarity in the highs without distortion.

3-Way SoundMatch Crossover

The proprietary 3-way SoundMatch crossover of the Prime Pinnacle uses audiophile-grade components (capacitors, air-core inductors, wide-trace PCB). It ensures perfect cohesion between the speakers with smooth transitions between registers. The crossover frequency is 300 Hz between the woofers and the midrange, and 2.1 kHz between the midrange and the tweeter, with 12 dB per octave slopes.

Rigid Cabinet

The Prime Pinnacle’s cabinet is designed to eliminate any parasitic vibrations and sound coloration. It is made of rigid MDF panels with internal bracing. Each speaker is mounted in a separate cavity to avoid interference. The three rear ports are flared for optimal airflow, reducing wind noise. The front corners are chamfered to minimize diffractions. Finally, elastomer feet decouple the speaker from the floor.

Acoustic Performance

Extended Frequency Response

Thanks to the combination of the three 16.5 cm woofers in a large volume, the Prime Pinnacle goes down to 29 Hz at ±3 dB. This allows for the reproduction of the infra-bass in movie soundtracks without the need for an additional subwoofer. The aluminum dome tweeter goes up to 25 kHz, well beyond the audible range, bringing air and naturalness to the highs.

The response is very linear across the entire spectrum, with perfect timbre coherence between the speakers. The sound is balanced and natural, without artificially highlighting any part of the spectrum.

Impressive Dynamics

With a sensitivity of 88 dB/2.83V/m and a power handling of 20 to 300 watts, the Prime Pinnacle is very responsive to transients. It reproduces all micro-details and follows level increases without compression. It delivers realistic pressure build-ups with a great sense of ease and energy, even at high sound levels without audible distortion.

Holographic Stereo Imaging

SoundMatch filtering and controlled speaker directivity allow the Prime Pinnacle to generate a stable and precise soundstage. Each source is realistically located in space, the soundstage extends beyond the speakers, with depth and distinct sound planes. The sweet spot is wide, allowing multiple listeners to enjoy a coherent stereo image.
