The best and the worst amplifier I ever had. The sound quality is amazing. The dolby and dts modes offer a great cinema experience. Great and precise control over the 7.2 channels. Powerful bass even without a subwoofer. It can easily handle 6 tower speakers. The amount of sound settings you can do is pretty basic. I was expecting more advanced settings.
Now the bad bit: it is hissing. It is the noisiest amplifier I ever had. The 360 mode after calibration is impossible to use due to the hissing noise it is making. A lot of white noise. At a volume level of only 30 during a silent scene in a movie the hissing sound is very loud. It's making a noise like I can hear into the speakers it's internal circuits working and discharging some electricity into the speakers. Like an old record player where you could hear the hissing sound it was making better than the music. Like a guitar amp with a lot of gain. Don't know how to explain it. Dts x mode and the 360 spatial mode have a lot of white noise. I gave up to auto calibrate it with the microphone as it is working better and it is quieter without calibration. But the mode 360 spatial is not available without calibrating it. Other modes are more "acceptable" as they don't hiss that loudly.
