Very neutral cable that doesn’t favor any part of the sound spectrum, lots of detail without harshness, and a very beautiful soundstage...

The Wireworld Equinox 10 RCA analog audio cable features Wireworld’s patented DNA Helix technology. This unique architecture involves braiding the conductors in a complex helical geometry inspired by the structure of DNA. This design minimizes electromagnetic interference and optimizes audio signal transmission.
The conductors are made of ultra-high-purity OCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) copper, offering exceptional conductivity. Their generous 21 AWG (0.4 mm²) cross-section ensures optimal signal transfer, even over long distances. The insulation between the conductors uses Wireworld’s exclusive Composilex 3 material, developed to reduce noise and interference.
The Equinox 10 cable’s RCA connectors are silver-plated, a metal known for its excellent conductive properties. Their patented Silver Tube design incorporates a silicone ring to effectively isolate the conductor core from the ground. This technology preserves signal integrity and prevents micro-disruptions.
The connectors are impeccably crafted, with precise fitting to ensure optimal and durable contact. Their ergonomic design makes them easy to handle and connect, even in tight spaces behind devices.
The Equinox 10 stands out for its ability to deliver a wide, deep, and perfectly focused soundstage. The soundstage gains in scale and precision compared to previous models, allowing each instrument to be pinpointed with remarkable clarity.
Neutrality is the hallmark of this cable, adding no coloration to the signal. The timbres are reproduced with striking naturalness, revealing the full harmonic richness of recordings. At the same time, dynamics are preserved, offering sharp attacks and fast transients that bring music to life.
Low frequencies are particularly well-handled, with remarkable extension, definition, and control. The midrange is exemplary in transparency, capturing the finest nuances of voices and instruments. As for the highs, they combine smoothness and precision without ever becoming harsh.
The Equinox 10 represents a clear advancement over its predecessor, the Equinox 8. While the overall architecture remains similar, Wireworld has optimized every aspect of the cable to push performance boundaries even further.
The conductor cross-section has been increased from 0.4 mm² to 0.5 mm², enabling even more efficient signal transfer, especially over long distances. The Composilex insulation material has also been improved, with a third-generation formulation that better absorbs parasitic vibrations.
The RCA connectors have also been upgraded, featuring thicker silver plating and an optimized design for better ergonomics. These enhancements result in a more stable stereo image, improved channel separation, and even finer reproduction of micro-details.
The Equinox 10 RCA is perfectly suited for high-end hi-fi systems, allowing you to fully exploit the potential of premium electronics. It excels particularly in connecting a source (CD player, DAC, phono preamp) to an integrated amplifier or preamplifier.
Its neutrality and transparency also make it an excellent choice for professional recording studios, where faithful reproduction is paramount. Sound engineers will appreciate its ability to reveal the finest details of mixes without altering them.
Like most high-end cables, the Equinox 10 benefits from a break-in period of approximately 100 hours to reach its optimal performance. You will notice a gradual opening of the soundstage and refinement of the timbres.
While primarily designed for stereo hi-fi, the Equinox 10 can seamlessly integrate into a high-end home theater system for main stereo connections (front left/right).
Wireworld indeed offers an XLR version of the Equinox 10, called the Eclipse 8, which incorporates the same technologies adapted for balanced connections.
