The FiiO FH19 marks a decisive milestone in the evolution of high-end in-ear monitors. Three years after the success of the FH9, this new flagship in the FH series pushes the boundaries of hybrid technology with an unprecedented configuration of 8 drivers per ear. The result of an in-depth collaboration with Tokyo Onkyo in Japan and Knowles in the United States, it incorporates patented technical innovations and a redesigned ergonomic shape to deliver a balanced and natural sound signature.

Advanced Hybrid Technology and 4-Way Architecture

At its core, the FH19 features a sophisticated hybrid architecture combining two 13.7mm push-pull dynamic drivers with six Knowles balanced armature drivers. This setup enables precise frequency separation: the dynamic drivers handle the bass, while the custom BA drivers take care of the mids and highs with increased sound energy density.

The distribution is organized around a 4-way crossover using Japanese Rubycon audiophile film capacitors, offering 0.1% precision compared to 1% for conventional components. This exceptional accuracy ensures sharp crossover points and enhances high-frequency resolution. The coaxial design in the treble, combined with film capacitors, delivers high-definition reproduction without harshness.

The dynamic drivers feature a suspended coil technology where the connections pass directly through the center of the diaphragm, eliminating parasitic contacts and extra adhesive loads. This approach ensures uniform diaphragm movement and unleashes its intrinsic potential.

Push-Pull Innovation and Tokyo Onkyo Collaboration

The push-pull technology developed jointly with Tokyo Onkyo is the true asset of the FH19. This configuration positions two dynamic drivers in an arrangement that requires only half the usual amplitude to reach the desired sound pressure level. The PU+DLC composite diaphragms ensure phase consistency and stabilize driver movement, significantly reducing intermodulation distortion.

The patented S.Turbo design, inspired by automotive turbochargers, leverages the properties of sound wave guidance. This turbine-shaped structure enhances low-frequency performance, creating deep and vibrant bass without masking other ranges. The semi-open approach with pressure relief technology paradoxically protects the eardrum while expanding the soundstage.

This technical collaboration results in significantly improved bass extension, cohesion, and speed compared to conventional solutions. The bass retains texture and control even in the most complex passages, while the fast response enables precise rhythmic rendering.

Ergonomic Design and Anatomical Optimization

FiiO has completely redesigned the FH19’s ergonomics based on extensive anatomical studies. The 10° angle between the earphone and the contact surface is the result of optimizations based on user feedback, allowing for a more precise fit in the ear canal. This tilt significantly improves comfort and stability without altering the earphone’s length.

The rear cavity design, entirely reworked, features a three-dimensional geometry with protrusions about 1.4mm thick. These contours ensure a stable fit by minimizing unwanted movement. The area corresponding to the human ear fold benefits from a thickness reduction of about 1mm, decreasing the sensation of pressure and compression.

Premium construction uses a 7000-series aluminum shell with a titanium mid-frame. These aerospace-grade materials ensure durability and strength while keeping the weight down to 12 grams per earphone. The meticulous finish and tight tolerances reflect the product’s high-end positioning.

Sound Customization and Interchangeable Filters

The FH19 features a system of three pairs of interchangeable audio filters (red, black, green) allowing subtle adjustment of the sound signature to suit your preferences. Each filter has a different mesh density and internal damping, altering tonal characteristics without distorting the overall balance.

This customization approach extends to the 22 pairs of included ear tips, covering various shapes and materials: standard silicone, enhanced bass, balanced, vocal, SpinFit, HS18, and HS20. This variety allows for optimal acoustic sealing and comfort according to each user’s ear shape.

The mids, described as rich and delicate, benefit from a specific treatment with the custom Knowles BA drivers. The 3+1 semi-open balanced armature array enriches both male and female vocals without frequency masking. The treble maintains remarkable extension without harshness, contributing to an overall fatigue-free listening experience.

Premium Connectivity and Silver Cable

The included cable reflects the attention to detail: 8 braided strands totaling 224 high-purity pure silver wires, each insulated with enamel and braided using the Litz technique. This construction minimizes skin effect and oxidation, preserving signal fidelity over the long term.

The extended MMCX connectors in steel ensure stable connections and compatibility with aftermarket cables. The interchangeable plug system (3.5mm and 4.4mm) adapts to various sources, from smartphone headphone outputs to DAPs and dedicated amplifiers.
