Furutech e-TP60E NCF

This product is no longer available for sale!

Overview

The Furutech e-TP60E NCF is a power strip with six Schuko outlets, designed for hi-fi and home theater setups. It incorporates Furutech’s proprietary NCF material as well as a shielded aluminum chassis, effectively reducing electromagnetic interference. Thanks to its rhodium-plated conductors and Alpha cryogenic treatment, it aims to stabilize power delivery and enhance the overall performance of connected devices.

Technical Design and Materials

The specially machined aluminum chassis acts as an active shield against radio frequency interference (RFI). A layer of GC-303 compound further protects by blocking electromagnetic interference (EMI). These disturbances typically originate from switching power supplies, digital processors, and radiation from other devices connected to the same electrical circuit.

Internal wiring uses Furutech μ-14 wire with a cross-section of 2.08 mm² (14 AWG) to ensure low resistance. The six FI-E30 NCF Schuko outlets feature non-magnetic, pure copper conductors plated with rhodium, chosen for their conductivity and resistance to oxidation. The FI-06 NCF(R) IEC inlet uses the same plating technology.

NCF Technology Explained

The NCF (Nano Crystal² Formula) material is the key innovation of this model compared to the standard e-TP60E version. This formula combines a special crystalline material with nanometer-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder.

NCF has two distinct active properties: it generates negative ions that eliminate static electricity and converts thermal energy into far-infrared radiation with wavelengths between 50 µm and 5 mm. The piezoelectric effect of the ceramic particles provides mechanical damping of vibrations, while the carbon powder contributes to electrical damping.

Alpha Treatment: Cryogenics and Demagnetization

All conductors in the e-TP60E NCF undergo Furutech’s two-stage Alpha treatment. The first stage is a cryogenic process that exposes materials to temperatures between -196°C and -250°C, altering their molecular structure to improve electrical conductivity.

The second stage applies a demagnetization process that completely removes residual magnetization from the conductors. This combination is designed to optimize electrical transfer and reduce micro-distortions caused by the magnetic properties of the materials.

Installation and Compatibility

The e-TP60E NCF plugs directly into a standard wall outlet and accommodates six devices via its Schuko sockets. Its dimensions of 200 x 130 x 60 mm and weight of 940 grams make it easy to integrate into a hi-fi cabinet. The unit can be placed horizontally or mounted vertically, depending on available space.

The distributor supports a maximum load of 2500W at 230V, or about 10A, which is suitable for most home systems. This capacity allows you to power a CD player, amplifier, preamplifier, digital source, television, and Blu-ray player simultaneously, for example.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the e-TP60E NCF and the standard version?

The NCF version incorporates the Nano Crystal² Formula material in the connectors and chassis, adding antistatic and vibration-damping properties. The conductors are also rhodium-plated instead of gold-plated.

Does the distributor filter the electrical current?

No, it is a passive distributor that does not alter the electrical waveform. Its function is to block RFI/EMI interference and stabilize connections through its materials and shielding.

Can high-power devices be connected?

The 2500W limit covers most home audio and video devices. It is advisable to avoid very high-power amplifiers or heating appliances that would exceed this capacity.

Does the placement of the distributor affect its performance?

Since the aluminum chassis is shielded, placement matters little. It is recommended to avoid direct contact with other electronic devices to limit mechanical coupling.

How long does it take to notice an effect?

The improvements provided by the distributor are theoretically immediate upon powering on. The NCF materials and Alpha treatment do not require any particular break-in period.

Is the distributor suitable for home theater systems?

Yes, it is equally suitable for audio and video sources. The six outlets allow you to power a complete setup including TV, players, and amplification.
