Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Smart Sub 8 work with non-Canton devices?

Yes, but only via a wired connection using the RCA input. The Smart Wireless link is reserved for Canton Smart series products. In wired mode, the sub integrates into any system with a subwoofer output (preamplifier, AV receiver, TV with audio output).

How does wireless pairing work?

Pairing is initiated from the OSD menu of the compatible Canton soundbar or amplifier. Once the subwoofer is powered on, the connection is established automatically within 10 to 20 seconds. An indicator on the sub confirms the connection status (searching, paired, connected).

What is the difference between a sealed and a bass-reflex design?

A sealed enclosure is completely closed: the internal air acts as a damper that controls cone movement. The result is tighter bass with less overhang, but slightly less deep extension at the same volume level. A bass-reflex design uses a port or passive radiator to increase efficiency in the low frequencies, sometimes at the expense of strict control. Canton chose a sealed design for the Smart Sub 8 to prioritize precision.

Can two Smart Sub 8 units be used simultaneously?

The Smart series allows only one subwoofer per configuration. For a dual-sub stereo setup or higher sound pressure, you will need to consider other ranges, or use wired mode with an external signal splitter.
