Furutech FT-SWS NCF Plus (R)
Overview
Direct evolution of the FT-SWS NCF (R), this new “Plus” version incorporates several structural and material improvements developed by the Japanese manufacturer. Furutech presents this model as the culmination of its research into AC power transmission, with a particular focus on mechanical damping, noise suppression, and overall electrical integrity. A wall outlet in Schuko format (Type F) that concentrates the brand’s proprietary technologies in a standard flush-mount format.
Ten times thicker: redesigned conductors
The most notable change compared with the previous version concerns the thickness of the conductors. The FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) uses main conductors made of non-magnetic rhodium-plated pure α (Alpha) copper with a thickness of 5 mm, versus only 0.5 mm on the earlier model. This tenfold difference has direct implications for current-carrying capacity and the mechanical strength of the contacts.
A non-magnetic stainless steel conductive spring reinforces the assembly, maintaining constant and uniform contact pressure on the Schuko pins. This device ensures a low-impedance connection even after numerous plug/unplug cycles.
Nano Crystal² formula serving damping
Furutech incorporates its NCF (Nano Crystal² Formula) technology into this outlet, a composite crystalline material with multiple properties. This compound generates negative ions that eliminate static electricity and converts thermal energy into far infrared radiation. The mix also incorporates nano-sized piezoelectric ceramic particles and carbon powder, which provide additional damping via the piezoelectric effect.
The insulation materials are composed of nylon and fiberglass into which this anti-resonance NCF material is incorporated. The goal: to reduce mechanical micro-vibrations and electrical disturbances right from the first connection point to the power grid.
Multilayer construction against resonances
The Plus version stands out with a reinforced structural approach. The front plate in molded zinc-magnesium alloy receives a carbon fiber finish and a particularly effective anti-resonant coating. The assembly forms what Furutech describes as a multilayer damping architecture.
A new hybrid TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) coating reinforced with carbon fiber extends the suppression of micro-vibrations. The internal supports and spacers have been redesigned to offer increased rigidity and stability, limiting mechanical fluctuations that could affect the electrical signal.
Alpha treatment: cryogenics and demagnetization
Like all Furutech products, this outlet benefits from the two-step Alpha process. The treatment begins with deep cryogenic freezing of all metal parts, using high-performance refrigerants (liquid nitrogen or helium) to reach temperatures between -196 and -250°C. At these extreme temperatures, the molecular structure of the metals changes: internal stresses decrease, molecules bond more tightly, and electrical conductivity improves.
The second step exposes these parts to a patented ring demagnetization treatment, using controlled attenuation to eliminate any residual magnetization. This process avoids the problem of conventional magnets, which can leave certain areas more magnetized than others.
A patented clamping system
The patented pressure plate system increases the contact surface of the Alpha conductors and ensures a more secure low-impedance connection. The outlet accepts wires with a diameter between 2.8 mm and 5.5 mm² (maximum 10 AWG), held in place by clamping screws.
With dimensions of 95 × 95 × 48 mm, the FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) fits into a standard flush-mount box. Its rated capacity of 16 A at 250 V AC meets the needs of European home and professional installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this outlet compatible with all flush-mount boxes?
The FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) measures 95 × 95 × 48 mm in depth. It requires a flush-mount box at least 55 mm in diameter and 40 mm deep. Most standard European boxes are suitable, but you should check the available depth in thin partition walls or older installations.
What’s the difference between the rhodium (R) version and a gold version?
The FT-SWS NCF Plus is only available in a rhodium (R) version. Rhodium plating offers excellent resistance to oxidation and higher hardness than gold, promoting the longevity of the contacts. Rhodium is also non-magnetic, which is in line with the overall philosophy of the product.
Can this outlet be used to power equipment other than audio gear?
Yes. The outlet is certified 16 A / 250 V AC and is suitable for any device within these limits. Its cost, however, makes it primarily intended for applications where power quality has a measurable or audible impact.
Is there a double version for two outlets side by side?
Furutech offers the FT-SWS-D NCF (R), a double version in the NCF range, but the “Plus” version is currently only available as a single outlet. The double version uses 0.5 mm thick conductors from the previous generation.
How does it compare to the GTX-D NCF outlets intended for the US market?
The GTX-D NCF are NEMA-format receptacles (American 120 V outlets), while the FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) is in European Schuko format. Both ranges share NCF technology and the Alpha treatment, but they are designed for different electrical standards.
