Mounting a television flush to the wall with no visible articulated arm, no dangling cables, while still keeping the ability to adjust the viewing angle: that is the SU-WL900’s mission. Successor to the SU-WL855, this Sony swivel mount features an ultra-slim profile and broader compatibility with the latest BRAVIA televisions.

The screen 13 mm from the wall

The attention-grabbing figure is the remaining thickness once the television is installed: 13 mm or 26 mm depending on the model and screen size. To give a sense of scale, 13 mm is barely more than a smartphone laid flat. The screen seems to float on the wall, without the bulk of articulated arms or thick mounting plates found on most swivel mounts. This result requires a perfectly flat wall (concrete, cinder block, or wood stud), and Sony recommends having the installation carried out by a professional.

Swiveling without pulling away from the wall

The mechanism allows rotation up to 21 degrees (exact range varies depending on the television). You will not be able to pull the screen 40 cm away from the wall to turn it perpendicular: the SU-WL900 is designed for fine adjustment of the viewing angle from a slightly off-center sofa, or easier access to the rear connections for occasional hookup. In exchange for this compact profile, there is no vertical tilt or lateral shift: the height and horizontal position must be decided when drilling.

Cable guides are integrated into the structure. The wires follow a concealed path from the television’s connections to the bottom of the mount, including when the screen is swiveled.

Broad compatibility, paired with a soundbar

The SU-WL900 supports VESA 300 x 300 mm and 400 x 400 mm standards, for televisions weighing up to 60 kg. This combination covers a range from 55-inch OLED panels to 85-inch LED and Mini LED models. Sony publishes on its website the precise list of compatible BRAVIA models, sorted by year (2019 to 2025 models), but any television meeting the VESA and weight requirements can be mounted.

The SU-WL900’s other advantage: compatibility with the SU-WB1 soundbar mount, sold separately. This second mount holds a compatible Sony soundbar (BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8, HT-A5000, HT-A3000) just below the television. The two elements swivel together, the SU-WB1 cable cover can be painted to match the wall, and the whole setup remains flush against the surface without visual disruption.
