Sony SU-WB1
Overview
A TV on the wall looks clean. A soundbar placed on a piece of furniture below it, much less so. Sony’s SU-WB1 secures both elements to the same mounting point: an aligned setup just a few millimeters from the wall, with no visible cables, able to pivot as one unit.
TV and soundbar on a single mount
The SU-WB1 is not a standalone mount. It installs on an existing Sony wall mount (SU-WL905 or SU-WL900, sold separately) and accommodates the soundbar directly beneath the TV. A single set of holes in the wall is enough for the whole setup, which simplifies installation and avoids drilling twice. The soundbar sits 13 mm from the wall, the TV 26 mm. The profile remains very slim, comparable to that of a picture frame.
Four Sony soundbars are compatible: the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8, the HT-A5000, and the HT-A3000. The maximum supported load is 8 kg. On the TV side, one condition should be checked before purchase: the distance between the lower edge of the panel and the lower screw of the wall mount must be approximately between 85 and 155 mm.
Synchronized pivoting and concealed cables
The TV and soundbar pivot together, up to 21°. The sound axis follows the viewing axis, which makes sense when the soundbar handles side channels or spatial processing. This pivoting also makes it possible to access the TV’s rear connections without dismantling anything.
Integrated cable guides route the power cable and HDMI (or optical) cable between the two devices so they do not hang down along the wall. Sony provides a cable cover designed to be painted the color of the wall, a detail that makes the difference between a neat installation and one that is truly polished. Even when pivoted, the cables remain concealed.
Simple installation, provided you plan ahead
The SU-WB1 weighs about 3 kg and attaches to the TV mount already in place. The soundbar then clips into the cradle. The operation can be done alone, but with two people it is more comfortable for the longest soundbars. The whole setup remains removable without any additional marks on the wall, since the SU-WB1 requires no drilling of its own.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the SU-WB1 work on its own, without any other mount?
No. It must be attached to the Sony SU-WL905 or SU-WL900 TV wall mount, sold separately. Without one of these two references, installation is impossible.
Can it be used with a soundbar from another brand?
No. The cradle is specific to the four compatible Sony models. The dimensions and attachment points do not match soundbars from other manufacturers.
Can the included cable cover really be painted?
Yes. Its surface is designed to receive a coat of standard wall paint, applied with a brush or roller, so it blends in with the wall color.
Does the soundbar stay in place when the whole setup is pivoted?
It is secured to the mount and pivots with the TV. The movement is mechanical and locked: there is no risk of slipping during rotation.
