Loewe We. HEAR pro neon

The first product born from the collaboration between Loewe and Kylian Mbappé, this portable speaker marks the German manufacturer’s return to the wireless audio field. Rugged and waterproof, it aims for full sound and long battery life for outdoor listening, in a cylindrical format that can be carried in one hand thanks to its matching shoulder strap. Three finishes are available, denim, neon and black, marked with the initials KM at each end of the enclosure.

Six drivers for stereo sound

Inside the cylinder, six drivers share the workload. Four are active: two 7 cm (2.75-inch) mid-woofer speakers and two 2.5 cm (1-inch) tweeters, connected by a two-way crossover. Two passive radiators reinforce the bass, housed at the ends beneath the KM initials. The Class D amplification delivers 50 watts RMS, or 100 watts of music power, across a range of 50 to 20,000 Hz. The configuration remains 2.0 stereo: to benefit from channel separation, Loewe recommends placing the speaker horizontally, sliders facing upward. The sealed enclosure and its passive diaphragm aim for present bass without resorting to a port that blows air.

Adjust the sound without an app

Tone settings are handled by three physical sliders placed on the side, one for volume, the other two for bass and treble. You adjust the sound by hand, without going through a phone, which helps outdoors when your hands are full or the screen stays at the bottom of a pocket. A built-in microphone supports hands-free calling, and a 3.5 mm jack input accepts an analog source when you prefer a wired connection to Bluetooth.

Connect up to fourteen speakers

The wireless connection relies on Bluetooth 5.3, with A2DP and AVRCP profiles and the AAC codec. The latter is well suited to Apple sources; Android devices equipped with more recent codecs such as aptX or LDAC will not benefit from them, since transmission is limited to AAC. The special feature lies in the in-house True Wireless Multi Pairing: up to fourteen We. HEAR pro speakers can synchronize on the same track to provide sound for a large room or a garden. This mode broadcasts an identical signal to all speakers. It is therefore not stereo pairing as a pair, where one speaker would handle the left channel and the other the right channel: this function (TWS) is not offered.

Twenty-four hours without recharging

The 5100 mAh (7.2 V) lithium-ion battery lasts about twenty-four hours of playback, enough to cover a full day without looking for an outlet. Charging is done via USB-C; allow about two hours with a 30-watt Power Delivery charger. Loewe does not place any power adapter in the box, for the sake of saving resources, on the assumption that a compatible USB-C charger is already found in most households. You therefore need to plan for one, preferably a Power Delivery model, otherwise charging time becomes longer. A 30-watt USB-C PD power supply is offered as an option to achieve the stated charging time.

Withstand water and the elements

The shell is IPX6 certified, which guarantees resistance to powerful water jets: rain, splashes or a quick rinse are not a problem. The 6 refers to water; the X indicates that dust resistance has not been rated according to this standard, even though Loewe presents the speaker as robust against particles. IPX6 does not cover immersion, so it is better to avoid submerging the speaker underwater. It operates between 0 and 40 °C, in relative humidity from 20 to 70%. In terms of size, the cylinder measures 28 cm long with a diameter of about 13.5 cm and weighs roughly 2.2 kg, a controlled but real weight that the included shoulder strap, matching the colorway, makes easier to carry.

Frequently asked questions Do you need an app to adjust the sound? No. Volume, bass and treble are adjusted directly on the speaker, thanks to the three sliders located on the side. The AVRCP Bluetooth profile also allows playback, pause and next track to be controlled from the connected phone. This physical approach avoids installing software and remains practical outdoors, where taking out your phone is not always convenient. What charger should you plan for fast charging? The speaker charges via USB-C and accepts a power supply between 5 V / 2 A and 20 V / 1.5 A. To reach the approximately two-hour charging time stated by Loewe, you need a 30-watt USB-C Power Delivery charger, sold separately. A less powerful charger will work, but charging will take more time. Since no adapter is provided, plan to use your own. Can the We. HEAR pro be paired with speakers from other ranges? True Wireless Multi Pairing links We. HEAR pro speakers to each other, with up to fourteen units synchronized on the same track. It does not communicate with speakers from other models or brands, which use different synchronization protocols. To expand the system, you therefore need to add other We. HEAR pro speakers, offered as accessories. Does IPX6 certification allow immersion or seawater? The IPX6 standard validates resistance to powerful water jets: rain, shower, splashes. It does not cover immersion, unlike IPX7 or IPX8 ratings, so you should not submerge the speaker underwater. The tests are carried out with fresh water. Seawater, corrosive because of salt, falls outside this framework: it is better to rinse the speaker with clean water after a day at the beach. What does the box contain when purchased?
