Loewe We. BOOST
Overview
Watching a film with true surround sound has, until now, meant running cables along baseboards and finding room for a bulky amplifier. Loewe takes the opposite approach: four satellite speakers and a subwoofer that communicate wirelessly, controlled by a small HDMI box connected to the TV. Five components to plug into the mains, no speaker wires to run across the living room, and Dolby Atmos output.
Neither soundbar nor AV amplifier
The We. BOOST sits between two worlds. A soundbar concentrates everything in a single unit placed in front of the TV, while a traditional home theater system requires an audio-video amplifier and cables running to five or more speakers. Here, four identical satellites are positioned around the sofa, two on either side of the screen and two behind the listening area, supported by a wireless subwoofer.
Technically, the small size of its drivers brings the system closer to a soundbar. But having real surround speakers in all four corners of the room provides sound localization that a single unit placed beneath the screen cannot reproduce. The pack comes pre-paired and preconfigured, Plug & Play: the five components recognize each other straight from the factory, with no pairing procedure required.
Four satellites that blend into the room
Each satellite measures around twenty centimeters high (12 x 20.1 x 12 cm) and weighs 1.5 kg, dressed in textured ash-grey felt that wraps around the front, sides and top. Only the rear and base remain bare. This discreet finish and single colorway (Ash Grey) are designed to make the speakers blend into the décor rather than draw attention.
Under the fabric, the front houses a two-way configuration: a 3.5-inch midrange driver topped by a 1.5-inch tweeter. The 2-inch elevation driver is positioned on the top edge and fires toward the ceiling. The enclosures are bass-reflex tuned. The subwoofer follows the same principle in a much larger format: 38.7 cm high, 6.2 kg, with a 6.5-inch (16.5 cm) woofer. Each satellite can be placed on furniture or wall-mounted: four wall brackets and M5 threads are included.
Thirteen drivers and two height channels
The system features thirteen drivers in total: four midrange drivers, four tweeters, four elevation transducers and the subwoofer’s woofer. The 4.1.2 designation reflects this layout: four surround channels, one subwoofer, two height channels. A useful clarification is needed on this last point. Each of the four satellites has a ceiling-facing driver, but the Atmos signal includes only two height channels, shared between the front pair and the rear pair. You therefore benefit from genuine vertical effects, reproduced more simply than with a system featuring four separate height channels.
Class D amplification is distributed across the five components for 720 W of total music power, or 360 W RMS: 120 W for the subwoofer and 60 W per satellite. Crossover filtering is set at around 120 Hz: the subwoofer handles bass from 43 to 120 Hz, the satellites extend from 120 Hz to 20 kHz, and the system as a whole covers the 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. Maximum level reaches 97 dB SPL. In terms of formats, the box decodes Dolby Atmos and Dolby Atmos Music, as well as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and PCM.
An HDMI dongle that distributes sound
Everything runs through the supplied HDMI eARC box, which connects to the TV’s eARC output and sends sound to the five components via wireless connection. Loewe highlights reliable transmission, with no perceptible delay between image and sound. The dongle also supports HDMI CEC and HDCP 2.2, so the remote control of a compatible TV can control volume.
This same box also serves as an input point for other sources: Bluetooth 5.4 lets you stream music from a phone, while a 3.5 mm mini-jack analog input accommodates a wired source. A dedicated 2.5 mm output allows a center speaker for dialogue to be added later, absent from the basic pack. The dongle is USB-powered, hence the accessories included in the box: a USB-A to USB-C adapter, a USB-A to dual USB-C splitter, an HDMI eARC extension cable, five mains cables, the four wall brackets and documentation.
Fine adjustments from the remote control
The remote control uses Bluetooth Low Energy and includes a small OLED screen displaying system settings. The connection is bidirectional: the screen reflects the device’s actual status. You can adjust bass and treble, as well as the distance and level of each speaker, allowing you to manually compensate for asymmetrical placement, since the system does not offer automatic room calibration.
Two modes complete the package. Night mode limits dynamic range to watch a film late without waking the household. Double Stereo mode plays the stereo signal through both pairs of satellites at once: Loewe presents it as a way to make dialogue easier to understand, which makes sense in the absence of a center speaker in the basic pack. The options remain deliberately restrained, but they cover everyday use without requiring you to dive into menus.
Compatibility with the Loewe ecosystem
The We. BOOST joins Loewe’s We. range, alongside We. SEE TVs and the We. BEAM projector. Its HDMI eARC connection makes it usable with any TV equipped with an eARC (or ARC) port, but Loewe highlights compatibility with its own models: Stellar, Inspire, Callas, We. SEE OLED, We. SEE LCD and We. BEAM. With these devices, CEC communication synchronizes volume and standby mode from the TV remote control.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Loewe. BOOST work with a TV that is not a Loewe brand?
Yes. The dongle connects to any HDMI eARC output, and most ARC outputs are also suitable. The difference lies in ease of use: with a non-compatible TV, volume synchronization via HDMI CEC may not be supported depending on the model, in which case you will need to use the package’s remote control.
Does “wireless” mean there are no cables at all?
No, and the distinction matters. The term refers to the audio connection between the TV and the speakers, as well as between the speakers themselves. However, each of the five components (the four satellites and the subwoofer) still needs to be plugged into a power outlet using the corresponding power cable. The HDMI box is powered via USB.
Can additional speakers be added besides the main unit?
The configuration remains fixed at 4.1.2. The only planned expansion is the 2.5 mm output reserved for a center speaker dedicated to dialogue. It is not possible to add additional surround speakers or a second subwoofer.
Is there automatic room calibration?
No. While some systems analyze the room and automatically correct offsets, the We. BOOST relies on manual settings. You enter the distance and level of each speaker using the remote control, which requires fairly even placement of the satellites for good balance.
Does the subwoofer require special attention depending on the room?
Being wireless, it can be placed quite freely. Positioning it near a wall or in a corner boosts the bass, and its bass-reflex tuning requires leaving some clearance around the port. The bass level can then be adjusted using the remote control to suit the room.
What is Double Stereo mode used for?
Rather than decoding a surround stream, it plays the stereo signal through both pairs of satellite speakers simultaneously. Loewe highlights improved dialogue clarity, which is useful since the package does not include a dedicated centre speaker for voices. This stereo operation is also suitable for listening to music, which can be sent to the system via Bluetooth or the mini-jack input without turning on the television.
