With its aluminum faceplate and metal chassis, the Marantz CD5004 CD player delivers interference-free playback of your CDs. The rigid construction and mechanical isolation effectively limit data reading errors by the optical block.
Digital-to-analog conversion is handled by a 24-bit 192 kHz Cirrus Logic CS4392 chip. As a Marantz specialty, the output stages feature HDAM-SA2 modules (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules in the SA2 variant with very wide bandwidth). Compatible with CD-R/RW, MP3 and WMA, this CD player also offers a fairly comprehensive set of connections. Optical and coaxial digital audio outputs are included, as well as a variable-level headphone output.

I've been using Marantz equipment for several decades. And given the expert reviews of the CD5004 - "gold-plated connectors, aluminum isolation case, very low noise interference..." across all the review sites I checked - I've stayed loyal... To high fidelity!
Pros: It's Marantz, so unbeatable quality for the price.
Cons: Had to wait 2 days to enjoy it ;) ).
