The Planet L spherical speakers come with a table stand, but wall mounting opens up new possibilities. This brushed steel bracket, designed for the Planet L and Planet L Performance, features an arc shape that follows the round silhouette of the speakers. Sold individually, it allows you to freely build a stereo setup, a 5.1 or 7.1 home theater system, or simply add a supplementary speaker.
The bracket mounts to the wall via a wall plate, then holds the speaker on an adjustable curved arm. Two adjustment axes are available: a 180° lateral rotation and a 45° vertical tilt. These ranges make it possible to direct sound toward the listening area, even if the speaker is installed at a different height or angle from the listening position.
Adjustment is tool-free once the bracket is mounted. The hold remains firm after adjustment: the Planet L speaker weighs 7 kg, and the fully assembled unit reaches approximately 8 kg. The steel structure handles this weight with ease.
The brushed metal finish gives it a matte, discreet appearance that does not catch reflections. The bracket recedes behind the speaker rather than drawing attention to itself. Its slim profile (60 mm depth) prevents the installation from looking bulky.
The curved design echoes the lines of the speaker itself. Elipson designed this bracket as an extension of the Planet L, not as a generic accessory. The proportions work in harmony: the width of the bracket (240 mm) remains smaller than the diameter of the speaker (290 mm), creating the effect of a suspended base rather than a visible technical arm.
The kit includes the wall mount, the suspension arm, the screw-on speaker attachment, and the assembly hardware. However, wall fixing screws are not included, as these depend on the type of wall (drywall, brick, concrete). The manual recommends choosing fixings rated for an 8 kg load.
The bracket is compatible with the standard Planet L and the Planet L Performance (the version featuring upgraded audiophile components). For the more compact Planet M speakers, Elipson offers a dedicated wall bracket sized to their smaller dimensions.
Wall mounting suits a variety of uses. In stereo, two brackets placed on either side of a TV unit or desk direct sound toward the listener without taking up floor space. In a home theater setup, the Planet L speakers can serve as rear or side surround speakers, mounted at height for an immersive effect. The 180° rotation also allows a speaker to be placed in a corner with the sound directed toward the center of the room.
Elipson recommends a distance of 20 to 40 cm between the speaker and the rear wall for balanced bass. Wall mounting reduces this distance, which may slightly affect low-frequency reproduction compared to a floor stand installation.
Yes. The Planet LW shares the same dimensions and the same mounting system as the Planet L. The bracket is in fact referenced by Elipson for both versions.
Orientation can be adjusted by hand once the bracket is fixed to the wall. Both rotation and tilt can be set without tools, allowing quick adjustments to suit different listening situations.
The bracket does not feature an integrated cable management channel. The cable runs down along the arm and then the wall. A cable trunking solution or an in-wall cable run should be planned for a clean, discreet installation.
