IPX3

The IPX3 protection rating, defined by the international IEC 60529 standard, guarantees water resistance against sprays tilted up to 60° from the vertical. An IPX3 product can withstand light rain and splashes without damage, but it is designed neither for immersion nor for direct pressurized water jets.

This waterproofing covers moderate outdoor use: portable speakers taken onto a patio or on a picnic, sports earphones exposed to perspiration and light showers, entry-level outdoor soundbars installed under a canopy. For hose cleaning or prolonged exposure to severe weather, a higher rating remains preferable to IPX3.
