Ecolabel
Created by the European Commission in 1992, this label applies to environmentally friendly computers and televisions. To date, it is the most comprehensive label, but also the most difficult to obtain.
To obtain this official label, the manufacturer submits its product to a very strict and fairly comprehensive set of specifications, which notably takes into account the product’s life cycle and the different types of environmental impact.
The devices must also be easy to dismantle for recycling, and the availability of electronic spare parts must be guaranteed for seven years from the end of production. Production plants are also subject to an audit. Finally, products covered by this label contain fewer harmful substances than others.
