Cardas XLR Crosslink (XLR Analog Audio Cables)
The Crosslink XLR cables are Cardas’ entry-level range, yet they inherit the technologies that built the reputation of the manufacturer from Bandon, Oregon. The 99.99% pure, oxygen-free copper conductors are assembled using the Litz method: each strand is individually insulated to prevent parasitic interactions. The gauge sizing follows golden ratio proportions, a technique patented by George Cardas to control micro‑resonances within the conductor.
The construction remains simple and effective. Two 20.5 AWG conductors in a twisted pair, natural cotton filler, and double spiral shielding in tinned copper. The capacitance, measured at 22.8 pF per foot in balanced configuration, ensures clean signal transmission even over long runs. The cable is flexible, slim (7.7 mm in diameter), and easy to install in tight spaces.
The sonic character? Warm and forgiving, without sacrificing detail. An accessible Cardas signature, terminated with in‑house CE XLR connectors featuring silver/rhodium contacts.
