Audioquest Angel Jack/Jack DBS (3.5mm Analog Mini-Jack Cables)

The Angel cable in the 3.5mm mini-jack version represents the pinnacle of AudioQuest’s Bridges & Falls series. Its name comes from the chemical symbol for silver (Ag): the conductors are made of solid PSS (Perfect-Surface Silver), a technical choice that limits distortion caused by impurities and grain boundaries present in copper, even high-purity copper.

For this range, AudioQuest developed FEP Air-Tube insulation in which the conductors are surrounded primarily by air, the least absorbent dielectric available. The 72V DBS (Dielectric-Bias System) polarizes this insulation to reduce phase shifts between frequencies, a phenomenon that affects the temporal coherence of the audio signal. The Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry separates signal conductors and shielding, reducing background noise.

The construction incorporates silver-plated red copper connectors, assembled by cold welding to preserve the integrity of the conductors. This method avoids the undesirable alloys created by traditional soldering. The cable remains flexible despite its advanced design, suited to both portable players and stationary Hi-Fi systems. AudioQuest offers this model in several terminations (mini-jack to mini-jack, mini-jack to RCA, extensions) and customizable lengths. The Angel sits between the copper models in the series and the more ambitious Elements references, which are also stiffer and bulkier.
