The air helix now runs all the way to the end. In this fifth generation of the Referenz AIR line, Air Helix insulation extends right into the plugs, where it previously stopped at the spacers. The conductors remain suspended in regularly spaced clips, with air serving as the dielectric for almost the entire length: capacitance and dielectric losses are extremely low, which matters in an interconnect where the signal is weak and the source can sometimes be temperamental.

The Cross Link Super Speed conductor braids individually enamelled OFC copper strands around a polyethylene core, insulated from one another against eddy currents and oxidation. Coaxial construction, dense tinned copper braid shielding, PVC-free PE monofilament mesh jacket, 13 mm diameter, one cable per channel.

The RCA SL plugs contain no solder: the enamel is machine-stripped, the tellurium copper contact pin is crimped under 1.5 tonnes, the shield is hermetically screwed on, and rhodium plating is preferred to gold for its wear resistance. Hand-assembled in Germany, lengths from 1 to 2 m. Allow room behind the furniture; the cable is stiff.
