Philips OLED901 TV: compact design with powerful audio section

The OLED901 series, available exclusively in 42 and 48 inches, succeeds last year’s OLED810/820. TPVision, which markets Philips televisions, has chosen to integrate a complete soundbar rather than upgrade the picture quality. The model is thus positioned at the level of the upcoming OLED811 series in terms of visual performance, with its OLED EX panel and its peak brightness announced at around 1,000 nits (3% window).
One detail to note: the OLED901 does not include Dolby Vision 2, the new HDR standard presented at CES 2026. This feature remains exclusive to the OLED811, OLED+911, and OLED+951 series, which constitute the brand’s true high-end lineup this year.

Audio section: 50 or 70 watts depending on screen size
The audio section marks the real difference from the rest of the catalog. The television features a forward-facing 2.1 channel system, consisting of mid-high speakers and a 30 W boomer at the rear.
The 42-inch totals 50 W of power (two 10 W transducers plus the boomer), while the 48-inch climbs to 70 W thanks to four 10 W transducers. Both models support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and can be integrated into a multiroom system via DTS Play-Fi (up to 5.1.4 configuration).
Picture and gaming: the 2025 platform continued
The OLED901 is based on the previous year’s technical platform, powered by the ninth-generation P5 AI processor and the MediaTek Pentonic 1000 SoC. The LG Display OLED EX panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut and operates at native 120 Hz, with VRR support up to 144 Hz (or 240 Hz in 1080p for PC gamers).
In terms of connectivity, two of the four HDMI ports meet the 2.1 standard (48 Gbit/s), compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-Sync, and ALLM. The Google TV operating system runs on Android 14, with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Three-sided Ambilight completes the equipment, combined with a swivel stand (±15°) with a metallic design.
Gamebar 2.0 allows you to create settings profiles per game, automatically loaded when launched. An expanded color assistance mode facilitates readability for gamers with visual impairments.
Availability and distribution
According to available information, the OLED901 series will be distributed only through specialized retailers and may not be marketed in all European countries. Philips is expected to officially announce its entire 2026 lineup in mid-March. Pricing remains to be confirmed.
