The RC-1590 stereo preamplifier has been designed to achieve the highest levels of audio performance and to offer an incredible level of control and flexibility to the user. It all starts with an oversized power supply, consisting of two Rotel-made toroidal transformers specially manufactured for maximum efficiency and reduced magnetic field. These two transformers provide low-noise isolation between digital and analog signals. They are an integral part of a reference power supply composed of analog and digital regulation circuits associated with custom-made slit-foil capacitors. Slit-foil capacitors charge and discharge very quickly with low signal level loss, ensuring precise and tight bass.

Rotel engineers wanted to create a reference stereo preamplifier that could be paired with our new RB-1590 stereo power amplifier. Each step of component selection or circuit design has been carefully evaluated during multiple and in-depth listening sessions to guarantee the highest level of playback fidelity. For example, analog and digital circuits were designed separately, each by different Rotel teams. All analog inputs benefit from very low noise circuits, and incorporate a high-performance phono stage for moving coil cartridges. The digital circuits are fully isolated and feature a high-precision 32-bit/768 kHz digital-to-analog converter.

The RC-1590 is equipped with comprehensive features including balanced XLR inputs and outputs, unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs, microprocessor-controlled volume control, fixed-level line output, two subwoofer outputs, digital outputs (coaxial and optical), digital inputs (3 coaxial and 3 optical), Aux, CD and analog tuner inputs, built-in Bluetooth functionality (aptX and standard Bluetooth compatible) with external rear antenna, front USB input for iPod with 2.1 A charging, as well as a rear PC-USB input supporting 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD (Windows) and DoP (Mac computers with DSD via PCM).

Other features also include two 12V trigger outputs, a variable brightness front panel display, an automatic power off function (configurable), integration into a home automation system via RS-232 or IP control, regular internal software updates via the Internet, Rotel Link connection, a detachable IEC standard power cord, an external input for IR commands, and a front panel 3.5 mm standard headphone jack.
