Overview

The RSP-1582 required two years of manufacturing and innovates with an entirely new platform. Rotel engineers meticulously evaluated each component of the electronic circuit, as well as the precise need for each of its functions. The device features a modular construction to facilitate upgrading its main internal circuits via cards, and its software can also be updated via the Internet or by downloading to a USB key, in case a network connection is not available.

The RSP-1582 is, of course, a preamplifier and home theater processor, but first and foremost, it distinguishes itself with its audio section. For example, six Wolfson 24-bit/192 kHz converters (DACs) are distributed as four independent DACs for the front left, front right, center, and subwoofer channels, with two stereo DACs shared for the rear channels. This configuration allows for exceptional overall performance but offers the best possible quality for the most critical channels. In cinema mode, a high-performance Texas Instruments Aureus processing and decoding circuit (DSP) is implemented, associated with a 10-channel parametric equalization circuit. A high-performance Texas Instruments analog-to-digital converter is used to facilitate optimal conversion of analog signals for playback in surround audio modes. Balanced and unbalanced XLR connectors are offered, with audio stages using very high-end components for all signal-critical applications. For stereo playback of analog sources, the RSP-1582 has an analog “bypass” mode for the purest possible signal path.

For video use, the preamplifier/processor integrates 8 x HDMI 2.0 video inputs compatible with 4K video format, three of which are HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compatible. The two HDMI outputs support the HDMI 2.0 format. The modular approach of the video section allows for very serene consideration of all future updates.
