Overview
The ERGO AMT model is the reference headphone featuring the new Heil Air Motion Transformer transducers. The diaphragms of these speakers operate with a 5:1 transformation ratio, meaning the volume of air displaced by them is 5 times greater than the actual volume of a traditional diaphragm (the open flat diaphragm measures 175 x 88 mm).
These transducers rationally and scientifically apply the theory of Dr. Oskar Heil. One of the indisputable and remarkable qualities of Heil speakers is their extreme speed of reaction to sound impulses, which ensures excellent dynamics and uncompromising balance. During extended listening, unlike most transducers, Heil speakers will provide you with maximum sensation without fatigue or stress. This is due to the sound balance of the speakers and the absence of distortion that is always present in conventional speaker systems.
The ERGO A.M.T. headphones, with their low impedance (< 4 ohms), require a dedicated power amplifier, the ERGO AMP-1 or, better yet, the ERGO AMP 2. It is also possible to connect the headphones to a speaker power amplifier using the Ergo adapter. The adapter has a switch allowing you to select between listening on the speakers or on the AMT headphones plugged into the front panel.
