The amplification section of the OTTAVA f system succeeds the Technics reference system concept and adopts a fully digitized amplification configuration equipped with the JENO (Jitter Elimination and Noise-shaping Optimization) engine so that the speakers faithfully reproduce, without any loss, all of the audio data contained in the high-resolution source. Moreover, the OTTAVA f is equipped with three units of the same JENO engine as the one used in our high-end models to ensure optimal operation of the integrated speakers, and in order to benefit from a high-quality integrated hi-fi system meeting Technics standards. The system has a two-amplifier structure to separately drive the woofers (low frequencies) and the tweeter/midrange units (mid to high frequencies). It also uses the high-performance digital signal processing (DSP) circuit integrated in the JENO engine to achieve precise channel division, perfect time alignment between the speakers, and optimal frequency response correction.
LAPC is an original adaptive technology from Technics for loudspeakers. It measures the frequency amplitude/phase statistics of the amplifier to which the speakers are connected and performs digital signal processing to obtain the ideal impulse response. The optimized parameter characteristics for the low and high frequencies of the speakers are already predefined in the unit’s LAPC computation circuit to achieve the ideal frequency and phase characteristics across the entire frequency range.
The OTTAVA™ f is equipped with brand new acoustic lenses featuring the “curved fin” structure. The rear of the fins is shaped to match the soft dome shape of the tweeter diaphragms, and the fins are placed close to the speakers to provide long sound paths. This shape offers wide directionality, an extended sound field, and detailed high-frequency reproduction capability for a frequency range from 11 kHz to the high-resolution range. The fins are permanently connected to the front acoustic deflector to minimize interference with the high-frequency characteristics.

The sound is good if there is good FM reception.
No problem with CDs.

Extremely satisfied with this product. The accuracy of the sound reproduction is stunning. Listening at high volume is never tiring and allows you to appreciate the full potential of this hi-fi system. The wireless connectivity is excellent, and I also connected my TV's optical output to the device. Even though you don't get the surround sound of a 5.1 system, the clarity and precision of the sound reproduction is very pleasant (for example, with the animated movie Soul). Moreover, the device is compact, and the design is both discreet and timeless, pleasing everyone. One slight drawback is that we would like more native integrations with other online music providers (Amazon Music HD and Apple Music), but everything is still possible via Airplay or Chromecast.
