Overview

The reference digital Audio 40 features a carefully designed geometry to achieve the precise characteristic impedance required for optimal S/PDIF signal transfer.

The silver-plated conductors offer the advantage of lowering the impedance for high frequencies that travel on the periphery of the conductors and could thus be attenuated due to the “skin effect”.

Traditional RCA connectors used for S/PDIF connections are not suitable due to their characteristic impedance that is not matched and causes signal reflection at the junction of the cable and connector. QED’s “Digiloc” connectors use an innovative design to more precisely match the characteristic impedance of the cable, thereby reducing return loss by up to 1 dB compared to traditional RCA connectors.

Once again very satisfied with this Qed coaxial cable that connects the Node 2i to the CD player's DAC Roksan. In fact, thanks to this cable, the improvement comes with the wiring and with the CD player's DAC. All the sounds have evolved... Really top notch! I'm going to end up changing all the cables (power, speaker, power filter...) but for now I'm out of budget... We'll see later...
