The value for money of this speaker is exceptional. The frequency response is very linear (often better than high-end speakers) with impressive bass extension. For those who want to learn more, a detailed video is available on YouTube about the Polk R700 on Erin's Audio Corner channel. I recommend an amplifier with at least 2 x 200 W at 8 Ohms to fully enjoy the bass. Placement is made easier thanks to the port located underneath the speaker. In summary, this is an easy-to-live-with, well-balanced speaker that will bring you musical happiness.

The build quality is very good overall. Bass response is really low and balanced. However vocals sound muffled and the tweeter has very narrow dispersion. Therefore sweet spot is very limited. In addition due to the relatively big height of the speakers, the listener must sit much higher and closer. Otherwise will be way off axis and lose a lot of highs.
