IMAX Enhanced
IMAX Enhanced is a certification co-developed by IMAX and DTS that guarantees home playback of films mastered according to IMAX requirements: resolution and brightness of the original video format, sound fidelity matching the theatrical mix. The program covers televisions, video projectors, home theater amplifiers, players, and content, with each link in the chain required to pass a battery of tests before displaying the logo.
The audio component is based on a variant of DTS:X with expanded dynamics and more pronounced bass, reproduced without recompression. The minimum configuration required to benefit from the IMAX Enhanced label is 5.1.4, with a recommendation of 7.2.4 to fully take advantage of the height channels and the spatialization intended in the mix.
