The Yamaha RX-A6A is a home theater AV receiver in the Aventage series, designed to deliver an immersive, high-quality audiovisual experience. This versatile unit combines cutting-edge technologies with impressive power to satisfy even the most demanding movie and music enthusiasts.
A powerful heart for total immersion
The RX-A6A is equipped with a 9-channel amplifier delivering 150 W per channel (into 8 ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 2 channels driven). This configuration makes it possible to create an enveloping, dynamic sound environment, ideal for complex home theater setups. The unit supports processing for up to 11.2 channels, providing increased flexibility for the most ambitious installations.
Yamaha’s high-slew-rate amplification technology ensures unmatched precision in audio signal transmission. With a slew rate twice that of previous models, the RX-A6A optimizes the reproduction of high-resolution audio signals, delivering exceptional clarity and accuracy across the entire frequency range.
Artificial intelligence in the service of sound
One of the standout features of the RX-A6A is its SURROUND:AI technology. This innovative system analyzes audio content in real time to automatically adjust the surround effect according to distinct sound elements, such as background music, dialogue, and sound effects. Thanks to 64-bit processing powered by the powerful Qualcomm QCS407 processor, the RX-A6A delivers exceptional sonic immersion, as if a sound engineer were fine-tuning every scene for optimal results.
Uncompromising audio quality
The Yamaha RX-A6A incorporates high-quality digital components to ensure flawless sound reproduction. At the heart of the audio system is the ESS SABRE PRO Premier ES9026PRO 32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Its patented 32-bit HyperStream technology minimizes total harmonic distortion (THD) and reduces noise levels, resulting in clear, precise audio reproduction.
Yamaha’s exclusive D.O.P.G. (DAC on Pure Ground) system eliminates potential differences between stages in the audio circuit, significantly reducing background noise and improving resolution across the entire audio frequency range. The result is rich, detailed, and expressive sound reproduction, even for the most subtle details.
Design built for performance
The RX-A6A benefits from a carefully engineered mechanical design aimed at optimizing its acoustic performance. The H-shaped frame reinforces the rigidity of the chassis, ensuring greater sonic stability. Anti Resonance Technology (A.R.T.) Wedge, featuring a fifth, central foot, effectively reduces unwanted vibrations from the transformer, power transistors, and heat sinks.
The internal layout of the components has been meticulously designed to promote symmetry and minimize signal paths. This attention to detail results in clearer, cleaner, and more transparent audio reproduction, ensuring an optimal listening experience.
Full compatibility with modern audio formats
The RX-A6A supports a wide range of immersive audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D (via a future update). These technologies create a three-dimensional sound field that places the listener at the heart of the action. Yamaha’s CINEMA DSP HD3 system adds an extra dimension by recreating the acoustic characteristics of famous concert halls and movie theaters.
The receiver is also compatible with high-resolution audio formats such as FLAC, WAV, and AIFF up to 384 kHz/32-bit, as well as DSD up to 11.2 MHz. This versatility makes it an ideal choice for audiophiles who want to enjoy their music collection in the best possible quality.
Advanced connectivity and multimedia features
The RX-A6A is equipped with 7 inputs and 3 HDMI outputs, all compatible with the latest video standards, including 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz. It supports HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision and HDR10+, as well as advanced gaming features like VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).
Integration of Yamaha’s MusicCast technology enables wireless multiroom audio streaming, while compatibility with AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and major streaming services (Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, etc.) offers great flexibility in accessing content. The RX-A6A can also be voice-controlled via Alexa and Google Assistant.
State-of-the-art acoustic calibration
The most advanced version of the YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) system is built into the RX-A6A. This automatic calibration technology uses the supplied microphone to analyze the acoustics of your room and adjust the receiver’s settings accordingly. 3D multipoint measurement and precision equalization ensure sound optimization that is perfectly tailored to your listening environment.
Standby power consumption: 0.1 - 1.7 W depending on configuration

Excellent product. My 3rd Yamaha AVR, it’s hard to switch brands; the dynamic sound and the numerous DSP settings “lock” me into this brand, but that’s not a problem ;) Only the display really looks ugly compared with the rest.

Excellent produit.
