Focal currently offers 3 models: 2 floorstanding speakers, the Chora 826 and Chora 816, and a bookshelf speaker, the Chora 806. The flagship of this new range is the Chora 826.

Its modern and sleek design, combined with its choice of finishes and the inclination of its base for a better soundstage, make the Chora 826 the flagship model of the line, ideal for large rooms.

The TNF Aluminum/Magnesium Tweeter

The suspension that connects the dome to its support uses a shape-memory material called Poron. This suspension is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter and reduces distortion by a factor of three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, a zone of high sensitivity for the ear. The spatialization and very low directivity of the inverted dome allow for silky treble to be perceived, regardless of the listening position in the room.

The Slatefiber Cone

Slatefiber technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of using recycled, non-woven carbon fibers, sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In the quest for perfection, Focal engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers, all oriented in the same direction, to obtain even more rigidity and better damping. Manufactured in France using state-of-the-art industrial tools, this “slate-effect” cone provides more damping, rigidity, and lightness - the three “essentials” of a good speaker.
