The Triangle BRC2 White represents the natural evolution of the Borea range, designed by the French manufacturer Triangle. This center speaker stands out with its new 16 cm natural cellulose pulp drivers, offering a broader and more precise reproduction of dialogues in your movies and series. Equipped with a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter and a sensitivity of 91 dB, the BRC2 delivers exceptional vocal clarity while maintaining the dynamic and musical character inherent to Triangle’s sound signature.

A significant evolution in the Borea range

The BRC2 marks an upgrade compared to its predecessor, the BRC1. While the BRC1 was equipped with 13 cm midrange/woofer drivers, the BRC2 takes a step forward with its 16 cm transducers. This size increase is not insignificant: it extends the frequency response downward (50 Hz compared to 57 Hz for the BRC1) and improves the overall dynamics of the speaker. The power handling also increases from 100W to 120W, providing additional headroom to faithfully reproduce action scenes without compression.

This new center speaker is part of the recent expansion of the Borea range in home cinema. Triangle has indeed enhanced its collection with two new models: the BRC2 and the BRS1 (a dipole/bipole surround speaker). These additions now allow for the creation of complete and coherent home cinema systems, ranging from simple 2.0 setups to the most ambitious 9.2.2 configurations.

Sleek design and construction

True to the aesthetic of the Borea range, the BRC2 features a sleek and elegant design, with no visible screws or magnetic grille. This minimalist approach is not just about aesthetics: it also contributes to sound quality by eliminating potential sources of diffraction and resonance.

The BRC2 cabinet benefits from the DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System), a technology previously reserved for more expensive speakers. This system includes perforated MDF internal panels and EVA foam, with a high-density foam gasket ensuring contact between the speaker driver motor and the reinforcement. This sophisticated construction reduces and absorbs vibrations generated by the drivers, ensuring purer and more precise sound reproduction.

Technologies and audio performance

The BRC2 inherits acoustic innovations developed for the Esprit Ez series, particularly in terms of cabinetry and driver membranes. The 25 mm EFS (Efficient Flow System) fabric dome tweeter is equipped with a neodymium magnet and a phase plug designed to smooth the high-frequency dispersion while reducing directivity. This design ensures uniform sound distribution throughout the room, regardless of the listening position.

The two 16 cm midrange/woofer drivers use a natural cellulose pulp membrane, a Triangle specialty. This material offers an excellent balance between rigidity and internal damping, avoiding any artificial coloration of midrange frequencies. The result is strikingly realistic voice reproduction, giving dialogues the intelligibility and intensity needed for perfect understanding, even in the most complex scenes.

The bass-reflex configuration with a front port allows the speaker to be placed near a wall without creating unwanted vibrations or resonances. This feature provides great placement flexibility, a significant advantage in home cinema setups where space is often limited.

Integration into a home cinema system

The center speaker plays a crucial role in a home cinema system, as it is responsible for delivering dialogues and front sound effects. A good center speaker must accurately reproduce both the subtlest effects and the most powerful impacts. The BRC2 excels in this area thanks to its extended frequency range (50 Hz - 22 kHz) and high sensitivity (91 dB).

For optimal results, it is recommended to pair the BRC2 with other speakers from the Borea range. Triangle offers a complete lineup including:

• Two bookshelf speakers (BR02, BR03)
• Two center speakers (BRC1, BRC2)
• Two effect speakers (BRA1 for Atmos effects, BRS1 for surround effects)
